They put a pretty big car show on at my work every year. Classic cars only but any make and model. There will be free hot dogs, drinks, chips and ice cream as well as lots of activities for kids like bouncy houses and things of that sort. It's a really cool setting, show cars are parked int the grass around one of the ponds. Last year their were around 200 show cars. Spectator parking gets kinda crazy so if you attend try to be on the early side. Just throwing this out there for anyone looking for a good time for the whole family and the best part it's free. The address is 1575 John Knox Dr. Colfax NC.

1999 4Runner is a classic car!

Well, would you look at that ..... 10 - 1. :flush:

So is the car show an actual "show" or more of a cruise-in?

In other words, should I show up at 9:30 with an entry fee and a spec sheet and a mirror to place under my display of trophies from all the past "best of show" wins at prior events?

Or should I roll in at 10:30 and drive slowly past all the other rides while making snippy comments about non period correct hood ornaments and marker signals?

I'm fine either way...

It's a cruise in type but cars to be shown are parked in a totally different area than spectator parking. If you wanna drive the 40 and "show it" I would arrive a little before 10, say 9:30ish. With the weather forecasted to be a great day tomorrow it will fill up quick. Years ago it used to be a show with trophies and classes but now like you said it more of a cruise in style. Bring the 40, it's a good time and usually some great cars. @Rice if you can come bring your 40 as well.

Plan to bring the 40. If the 60 is coming save me a space.

60 will not be coming, I have the charcoal canister out and I will be busy working. I will be directing the parking of the "show" cars. if you and James want to park beside each other then be together when you come in.

Roger that. James .... how about I run by your place a little after 9:00?

Great show! Lots of super nice classics and a couple of old toyotas. :)

I'm gonna guess 200-250 cars or so. this guy decided that no doors was an open invitation to sit. :)

Wow.

Some pics for upload later .... still packing for tonights camping with Brent .... but the show was awesome! Blows the lid way off any cars and coffee gatherings! Everyone there with a handshake, super glad you brought your rig, free food, drinks, ice cream, and games for the kids. Definitely something ONSC should put on calendar for next year depending on what Steve thinks is appropriate.

@jamesurq The 40 looks nice without the top.

I'd have politely told the guy who climbed in..."You look old enough to remember when people used to have respect for the possessions of others."

Lol! That would have been perfect!

Glad Rice and James could make it! I've been parking cars at that car show for 13 years and there were finally some vintage Toyotas there. It really is a great car show, there would be no problem at all if it was on the ONSC calendar, the higher ups where I work have really been growing this show over the years and they want as many cars there as possible as long they are "vintage". Even though there are always several cars there every year that shouldn't be there. Unfortunately I didn't get many pics due to working but here are the few I got
