Tremec 4050

I’m deciding between what transmission to put into my 62. Does anyone in the area happen to have a Tremec 4050 or know of anyone that does? I would love some insight especially if behind a LS. I have driven a 60 with the H55F but heard the Tremec is a lot different so want to gather as much info as possible before I make my decision. Any info is much appreciated!

Oh now you got me down another rabbit hole. I must of been looking at the H151 gear ratios when I initially looked at it. Do you have experience with it behind a LS? The engine I got is a L8T. I’m thinking it should be in the high 400’s low 500’s for torque with it free flowing. Can it handle those numbers?

No, but have owned diesel cruisers with the H151. The 152 is newer and can be had for a reasonable amount new. @bottombracket can tell you more about the H15x family of transmissions.

Hello everyone -

Made the decision to finally move my LS swapped 80 to a manual. Ideally I'd like a 6 speed T56.

Anyone have any parts lists or other wisdom? Appreciate it!

It looks like both OD gears are almost identical and the 4050 just has a lower 1st gear. No adapter to transfer case either which would be awesome.

The h55 was the 4th transmission.
