Reviving an oldie as I just fully buggered a partially buggered drain plug. Planning to drop the pan and retap the threads. I can get the back 3 bolts out but looks like a PITA to get them back in straight.

Did you drop the tranny support when you removed / reinstalled your pan?

Does anyone have a long term follow up review of the ATP cork gasket? What to torque the bolts to? This will be my 2nd attempt after last years failed Toyota Red Figp reseal started a slow leak in the rear of the oil pan. 1997 Land Crusier 80 USA.

Purchased this ATP from HD

forget about the gasket, i have dropped my tranny pan half a dozen times and gasket will leak eventually - almost certainly. Get some oil resistant gasket maker and go to town with it.

If you are dropping your pan and it's in the budget replacing your old shift solenoids isn't the worse idea. Cobra Transmission also supplies gaskets ect.

If your pan leaks after using the proper sealant and book specs, it probably is not square or is slightly bent. The solution is to lay on flat surface and massage back

I might have not have evenly spread the FIGP on the pan. Also I remember moving it once it was in place. I torqued it to spec. Now the hard part will be carefully Taking it off.
