Hey guys. I have a 2000 LX470 and I have a question about Transmission fluid. I see so many conflicting info and nothing too solid to make the right decision.

Can I use Toyota T-IV Transmission on my 2000 LX470 or do I need to use Dexron III / Mobil / Valvoline?

I am reading that I could use T-IV as it is made by Mobil but I also don’t want to destroy my transmission.

I am at 265k miles and I am due for a transmission drain and fill. I’m lost

Here's what the owners manual for my 2000 says:
5194.webp

My last flush & fill I used Valvoline Maxlife ATF. It meets those specs, is readily available locally, and reasonably priced.

I don't know anything about the T4 fluid or if any of those things can be said of it.

I like Mobil One MV ATF best, in 98-02 100 series, and in all power steering reservoir.
Toyota ATF TSB (2).webp

Thank you for the quick response! This make a lot more sense! Glad I could go to O’reilly’s and grab the fluid I need.
