I plan to install a magnefine filter and it goes on one direction I need to know if I am correct or if I’m totally backwards on the direction of fluid flow. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong for some reason I think the metal lines cross.
Please see picture of diagram.

Thanks.

You're right, the lines do cross at least once. I might have enough pictures from when I did my swap to fully trace them if you need that, but for your purposes I think the main thing is I can confirm that fluid leaves the transmission and flows out from the metal hard line that points to the right of the vehicle, then returns into the metal hard line that points to the left of the vehicle. In the picture below, the red arrow is the hot ATF from the transmission going to the cooler/rad, then the blue arrow is the cooled ATF returning. Good reminder for me to install the magnetic filter I've got sitting for this and the power steering.

I saw your other thread about the Wholesale Autos parts and transmission rebuild, very tempting for me to order some parts from them for mine. How was the shipping to Calgary? I'm also in Calgary, might see you and your cruiser some time!

Yeah thanks for confirming. Cool your in Calgary too. There is quite a few of us here.
I was thinking of the mag filter for the power steering but I don’t think it’s really needed there.

Thanks for the info above, that's what I was looking for :)

BTW guys if you're in Canada and not already on the 80 Series in Canada facebook group, you should join! :)

Is the top line on the trans cooler the hot line (from transmission) and the bottom of the cooler the return line (back to transmission)? I have 96 fzj80. I cant find this info anywhere

Start her up and go for a run.
The hot line is out, and the "cooler" line is in.
