Is this a serious question?
Yes, maybe it's a stupid question but the post states very clearly that it adds 48.5HP. Maybe it was said in jest as I was basically assuming but normally I would expect some kind of smiley next to a joke like that. I'm an intelligent person but not someone with decades of experience working on vehicles and tend to take things literally, perhaps to a fault.

I also assumed it was not necessarily serious because there were not 100 posts immediately after saying "Dang, I gotta get me one of those to get another 48.5HP". However, I decided to risk asking what may be a stupid question because I'd rather do that than save face and remain ignorant.

OK, what MTNLVN said. @bjowett is the man regarding these trucks (and others)....

The 18035 will work in all fill locations, but not in the transfer or front diff drains.

So I read this thread twice with interest, but my head was spinning at the end.

Can you please tell me what parts to order for the diffs and t-case on a 2018 TLC, including the crush washers etc. that would provide the magnets?

Many thanks!

Brian's @bjowett Billet Oil Cap for filter

Might as well have extra gaskets on the shelf for future changes or deep water incidents.

Many thanks! Now to hunt these down so that I have them on hand when I changed the fluids ... ....

No hunting involved. Just click the link KLF posted above and buy them on Amazon.

Go to dealer. Have them get you a full set, and an extra. Also oil filters. Also actual OEM wiper blades (not the bull**** aftermarket crap with the toyota logo dealers stock). Maybe a spare lug nut. Just think of the things it would be good to have on a shelf and build a relationship with your parts guy. This stuff is cheap. Shop online for radiators and alternators.

You might have a better luck with your local dealer, but my local dealer doesn't stock anything for Land Cruisers. They won't discount from list, despite the fact that I've bought several new and used CPO vehicles from them. When I go to them for parts, they treat me like I am wasting their time. When I bring a part number they give me a hard time (insist upon the make, model and sometimes VIN) even though I know exactly the part I want.

I don't do anything with that dealer anymore, unless is a recall.

I have been buying almost everything from Olathe parts, big or small. Their parts people are kind, decent, knowledgable and helpful. They are a pleasure to talk with. They give reasonable discounts.

I'm not above buying the occasional part from Amazon (like these crush washers) when I'm making an order for another reason.

If I can't get it from them, especially if it is international, I use PartsSouk.

If I ever buy a new one, I am flying to Ed Martin Toyota and driving it home.

My local dealer can rot in hell as far as I am concerned.

I guarantee there is a solid person in that parts department, and when you need some stupid little plastic clip or a damaged drain gasket on short notice they can help you out big time. Not everything on these trucks is exclusive to the landcruiser.. basically every part listed in this thread so far is shared with a tundra/taco/4Runner/other model.
So maybe ask your local club who they go to (some people refuse to shop online.) Or ask the parts guys who usually helps out car clubs and the like, “and by the way no I’m not seeking a discount”

For @vcheng consider upgrading your front diff drain plug to the Lexus IS part. Way less likely to strip the head of it.

As least when it rounds of it is significantly easier to weld a large nut to . . .

I try to buy locally wherever possible, but the dealers here typically do not help with ordering parts that are different than what their computer and/or sales scripts say. I am likely not to get any helpful information or suggestions if I ask what other parts with a magnet will the diff drain plug accept on my TLC. Hence, the value of fora and users such as this and you, and then trying to hunt down those parts, preferably locally, but increasingly they insist on a VIN and we are back to square one as far as they are concerned.

They can't answer what other parts with a magnet will the diff drain plug accept because their system doesnt set them up to answer it. They don't know (or have access to) a comprehensive listing of thread size/pitch/length, what is magnetic, what isn't.. there are wizards out there that just know what fits but they aren't paying the regular parts guys to gain that level of knowledge. Those guys go other places and get paid for such skills.

On forums, we have a HUGE base of experience with different vehicles, do the research and don't have to sling batteries and oil filters all day.

My local counter was the exact same way at the beginning.. wouldn't do anything without a VIN. I politely told them I've done the research and will take the risk, I just want to order these parts and I have the numbers.

Now even though I place big orders on the webpage and see them to pick up those orders, if I stop in for something quick or not worth paying the will-call fee they know me by name, year/model, ask how the truck is doing, etc etc etc. And this is often for a $6 sale. They even give me the online pricing without the will-call fee about half the time.

These guys have a s***ty job. Frankly outdated business model, most customers call and have no clue what they need but think the parts guy on the phone should be able to read minds, (like magnetic drain plugs), lots of pressure to go faster, etc. Once they realize they are talking to someone that did their own work to educate themselves and the pressure is off many of them will relax a lot.

Not to say the dealer management aren't douches and deserve your money.. just that being on good terms with a local parts counter person is a good position to be in.

Rather than begin a new thread on transfer case fluid options, I thought I would resurrect this one. I have not been able to find another 75W option aside from what is linked earlier in this post. I was hoping you gents could answer how your transfer case has performed following using the Ravenol 75W and whether or not you have had any issues afterwards. I am considering using this soon as a viable option vs. $80/qt for the OEM fluid. TIA!

I have used ravenol 75w in my 2013 LC's
T-case for the past 20,000 miles. No issues to report. Never encountered the dreaded blinking light or have had issues related to it locking or unlocking. Ill continue using based on my experience and reading reviews on the tundra forums.

I have about 35K on the Ravenol magic sauce now, no issues, still shifts HI/LO and CDL just fine.
