I have a ‘99 LX that I recently purchased. It has a tow package with a Toyota wiring harness. I just used it to tow for the first time this past weekend. When plugged into my kayak trailer (with LED lighting), I have brakes and both turn signals but no running lights.

Any idea why that would be the only thing not working? Maybe the ‘99 wiring harness doesn’t like LED’s?

You will have to troubleshoot it, wire-by-wire. Also, the factory wiring converters can burn out (the thing that converts amber turn signals to a single brake/turn wire for trailers). In this case, I doubt the LEDs are affecting running lights.
