2010 lx570. Anyone bothered by factory trailer plug socket hidden under the truck. I only ever need the 4 flat style. Any way to have it in a better location like most other vehicles have?

I soldered a new 4 pin plug into the back side of the OEM plug and exists around the receiver area. When not in use it just gets secured under a flap. The OEM plug is still in its place just bent up a bit more so as two not drag. Open the cap and wash it out, prop it open to dry and then spray some oil in there to slow down the corrosion from road gunk.

I highly recommend unplugging the OEM plug from the harness and take the bracket and plug to the work bench. Less chance of spilling your beer.

MUCH simpler to just get a coiled 7 to 4 pin adapter for about 20 bucks on amazn.

I got a new Toyota factory plug, and mounted it into the bumper cover a few years back. Details in this post: Build - eatSleepWoof's '14 LX - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/eatsleepwoofs-14-lx.1112565/page-17#post-14491360

Ugly, but saves my back. I'm 50/50 on whether I'd do it again.
