@Kmonty66 rig is complete and home now. 4-5 hour drive home went well. I'll let Kevin elaborate. But the smile on his face and his two sons during the test drive was satisfaction enough for me. Thanks again K.

@DougRFJ62 is on the rack now and the front and rear axle is ready to drop in the morning. Front kit is ready to fit and weld up.

Wow... that was a fast turn around... what was the time frame beginning to end product / conversion / upgrades?

:beer::beer::beer::beer:
To all involved...!!

AJ and I figured we had a total of 23.8 actual work hours in finalizing the bracket design, installing, welding, axle builds, lockers, electrical etc. I was sick and didn't touch it for almost 3 weeks. Matt had 5 hours in cleaning the front and rear axles and I less than an hour cutting all the brackets off the rear and welding on the custom 60 leaf perches.

Custom front and rear aluminum bumpers is not in those hours.

We have it down where we can pull the axles, clean up everything and weld all the front brackets in about 7 hours for the front now. Figuring the rear and set up will be about twice that pending clean up and dealing with any rust issues. So far all the rigs at the shop and in stage from now until October are pretty clean frames.

Well today was an amazing day! I had a hard time sleeping last night in anticipation of driving to Redding @TRAIL TAILOR to pick up my 62. Pick my 2 sons up at 5:15 and started our 3 1/2 hour drive north. They were just as excited as I was, had to be to get up at 5:am...right!? 4 hours later driving through a little rain and windy conditions we arrived. Myself, Jason and my boys, and my dog, all went for our first drive. We drove the block by Jason's shop which has these large like slow down bumps, not the parking lot type. So Jason says "you can go as fast as you want but I hit it at 48 mph" so you know I had to hit it faster than 48! I was expecting it to jump but it sucked it up like a long hill. I felt the up and down but no "BUMP". It was an oxymoron, in a FJ62, you cant call them bumps anymore, maybe lumps now. So we dropped Jason off and we went to get some gas, I drove back over the "LUMPS" on the way back the opposite direction caring the speed same result. Super impressed. My boys spIit most of the drive home while I drove the 100. I did drive the last 7 miles home which for me was the best part of the drive. My road home is very winding/curvy, the boys couldn't keep up. Needless to say I'm impressed! The 100 I have been driving a lot, but have always liked my 62 better, pretty fair to say the 100 is going to be sitting for a bit. The only thing the 100 has over it is the heated seats and that's an easier fix!

@DougRFJ62 you are in for a treat!!

Looking forward to hearing how the rear coils go, maybe 50+ MPH over the bumps???!!!

Jason also makes a mean pulled pork taco!! Great eats thank you!

Thanks J and AJ!!

Special thanks to Andrea for letting Jason remain happily retired, again!!

See you soon!

What size tires did you go with? Looks fantastic.

A couple of people have inquired about another AC Bezel run/order... Well more than likely there won't be one.

We had 230 people on the list and 32 buyers.. It's a one hit (one run) wonder.... So unless its our idea we will more than likely NOT make anything based on the "wants" of the mob ever again. It used to be a good practice but those days are long gone it seems.

I ordered 60 bezels from my partner shop as that was our agreed upon minimum run and those are getting ready for production. I will let everyone know when they are done and shipped out in a few more weeks.

I'll decide when I'll release the remaining overrun bezels.

J
Will be looking out for the leftovers and hoping to be the lucky one who gets one of them. Also any projections on b pillar reproduction panels to be back in stock?

Do you have an idea when the bezels will ship? I want to pick up a few other things at the border on the same run :steer: so will order them to coincide. Assuming the border remains open... :frown:

All the bezel material was received and is being sawed this week. Should start production this weekend or early next week. We had a bearing seize on the main spindle of my partners Haas and are about 2 weeks behind because of that.

@DougRFJ62 progress continues.

ComeUp winch
Dual battery isolator
Optima blue top
Cut the old weld-in hitch out and install a Trail Tailor rear bumper.
New 80 pitman arm
Front is axle ready and rear of frame is cleaned up and ready to start the rear coil install.

We are off this weekend. First time we've taken a Saturday off since around Thanksgiving.

BBQ and beer button has been pushed along with lots of movie watching.

Have a great and healthy weekend all.

Jason
