Think I seen Seapotato on a home depot run with his rototiller.

Hah!

A coworker sent me this from the Philippines apparently it’s common practice to build a trailer and use your rototiller to steer and pull you around in rush hour traffic.

Haha, somehow I suspect their inspections are a bit more lax than here...

Not a single chicken or goat in that pic. I'm disappointed.

Split systems are pretty slick these days, no ducting required and there's diy precharged versions where you can do it all yourself.
Not that it takes a refrigeration guy long to set one up.
My house is an inefficient old farmhouse with an addition in every direction, so it's a bit too chopped up for those unless it had a lot of heads, otherwise I'd be all over that.

We have a heat pump but it's a noisy old clunker thats ducted so poorly it barely works, cools pretty well but we hardly use that, and it doesn't heat worth a s*** below 10c. Basically it's an add on to an oil furnace that the insurance company made us stop using, and oil furnace ducting is waay too small for a heat pump.

The quotes we got to replace were insane. Like 27k insane. Even the smaller quotes, after materials and labour for the ductwork, and price of the heat pump, the numbers didn't ad up to any kind of normal hourly rate.

So, if that's how they want to play, f***em.

Hence the 250 buck pellet stove we've been running the last few winters.

I'm kinda looking forward to gutting the whole mess and starting over tho.

Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you. Those quotes can be pretty motivating eh? Haha, I've been through the same a few times. Most recent was a roof quote. I always seem to need the quotation shock to get me off my ass and just do it myself. First few years of owning my house every vacation day was spent on projects. Thankfully past much of that now and can actually not work on my time off once in a while.

Yeah quotes are good motivators for sure. Wish I had a business where I could just tack on 10k and most people wouldn't blink...
Helps when you realize you're working for 100 per hour or more.
It should be interesting. Been putting this off since we moved here , so ****it.

This is the year.

Hopefully at the end of it all I'll have a heat source for most of the year that's quiet and doesn't require lifting 40lb bags of pellets or armloads of spiders mixed with firewood.

Although I'm sure I'll have my fill of spiders after a couple weeks under the house.

And just to angle things back towards tractors haha

This is the coil that came out of the big John Deere. Same as a Harley coil, except the Harley one is ⅓ the price of JD.

Doesn't really run any differently with a new one.

I suspect that's because I used the cheaper Harley Davidson coil, and they're designed to run like s***.

The dryer idler is working great for now... but I couldn’t pass up this free & new idler by Doorman....

Part number aligns with a 2004 CRV to replace a fubared A/C pump. Before I disassemble it and modify it to work I thought I’d make sure someone wasn’t about to hit “Buy Now” on one.

I’d be willing to trade it for a +/- $25 idler pulley if it’s useful to anyone... otherwise it’ll sit on the shelf till I modify it to work.

Not knowing what the different gears are supposed to be like, I’d thought they were all working right. Today I fixed a couple parts that had fallen off... 7th gear is fun... quite fast. I have a better understanding of why it came with a seat safety.

Stopped by bikersmurf’s place to check out his mower. Looking great, he’s all set for summer beer mowing.

Now if he figured out a way to stop beer from going flat within 2 minutes on a mower, he'd be a hero.
It's a ****in tragedy. You either need a convenient spot to set it down, reachable from the tractor between laps, or switch to wine.

High gear on mine is downright alarming.

Might be the quad tires are a bit taller than stock. :hillbilly:

Sounds about right... I’m certain I’ve driven slower Go-carts... without a seatbelt, helmet, or even a shutoff safety, it’s a little hair raising in 7th gear on a mower.

Specifications say 8 or so kph... I may have to check with the pocket gps one of these days.

Yeah I'd be curious about mine too. I only do the flats in high, hit the wrong bump and it feels like your spine is going to come out the top of your head.

I have some fairly pucker inducing side hills to add to the mix. Steep enough to also worry about doing a backflip.

Worst is the trail along the pond I mow a couple times a year, there's a 3 wheel section dangling over water where the pucker is powerful enough to damage the seat.

No wonder I never go wheeling anymore

I think I found the source of the carb problems...

Took out all the jets I could, cleaned of all the nasty crud, blew out the passages, and reassembled the carb. It now easily starts easily even at a low idle... under no load the RPMs cycle a bit at full throttle. I believe this is normal and it goes away once the blade is engaged or the throttle is reduced a bit.

I’ve figured out why the clutch pedal shook.Any recommendations on where to buy the final drive belt ? This one has chunks missing from it and it has rolled a couple times.

Not in your part of the world, in Nanaimo I'd say Ajacs
Might find it online I guess?

Those belts are pricey.
Ajacs for the win. Thanks

$17 x2 for two pulleys, and a part for the other mower. $12.95 for Purolator... at my door 18 hours later :D

Vs $46 for one locally.

Or $12.95 usd plus shipping, handling, duty, taxes, and possibly return to the vendor at random at the whim of border officials.

Final drive belts & deck belt... $11-12 a piece at Western tool & Equipment on Government Street. They are only rubber vs Kevlar, but they’re equivalent to what was there. If they wear too fast I’ll pony up for Kevlar that’ll last longer. So far they seem fine.

Yeah Ajacs is a good little shop. I get everything there if I can.
