You wouldn't be the first, allows for improved corner protection and departure angle.
I've seen two guys cut perfectly good corners for that reason.

Now after pulling on that rim with 20,000 lbs of force I wonder if the wheel is still viable? Did the guy get out?
 
Apparently someone has the wrong size chains for their truck or they don't know how to put them on properly .
 
Two feet of slushy snow on a frozen lake couldent stop the 60 from slithering around on its belly like an otter
