Gonna guess before I ’Click’ - $125000 Euro. See how far under I am.

EDIT: way off. It’s more used than it looks. Fair price actually. Have to sell both
to get that.

With overland in the title, that generally equals too much $$.

Probably sell on "car camping portal . com" or whatever that site is called.

Those 70 series beds really do look good.

Probably even look cool on a taco.

I've been waiting for a tree to fall on the ass end of my 60 for 8 years.

Sounds like you're approaching the same boat.

Haha, yeah, I came to the realization that all my body rust would be gone if I did something like this. This being more work and expense of course; but a way cooler end result.

The guy actually just attached the back of a 79 cab to his Prado after some precision cutting. Given how messed up the mine truck cabs usually are, it's not a bad idea. He shortened the 79 box to fit also, as 78 frame is shorter. Hood is a custom job. Found his build pictures with comments.

Looks like he did a nice job from this distance, certainly looks cool.

I lusted after a 79 box for a while, but in the end I'm glad I did the fold down sides thing. Cats ass for loading and unloading having 3 tailgates. Wouldn't be that hard or expensive to build another set of sides...just sayin :grinpimp:

My tree crushing scenario is just so I could take the 12ht out of the 61 guilt free.

If I stumbled across a 2h and 5 speed it might make it more likely.

I just think my 40 thing would be way too much fun with my 12ht in it, but I'd need a pretty good reason to carve up a half decent 60.

To be honest, if I went this sort of route I'd probably end up with some custom box or flat deck solution also. A decent Toyota cruiser box is just to much $$ for my mortgage slave budget. :bang:

Come out wheeling and roll the 60 by mistake....

He's a young lad (coming from an old goat), a welder at a friend's steel fab shop. His 60 has been in the family from new, used to live on SS Isl. Converted the 3b to turbo, fabbed the alu roof rack, and a bunch of other work. Nice to see it "built, not bought".

So, what shop does he weld and fab in? Could be useful kinda guy to know! LOL!
