@alia176 Not sure about others, but I've treated Amayama as more of a place to get some things that might be tougher to find or non-US bits and pieces (like a few things for my manual tranny swap).

Hey,

regarding amayama....
I must say from the beginning I'm not associated in any way form or shape with amayama, I'm just a long time customer........
I buy almost exclusively all my parts from amayama...I've done so for more that 10 years or so.... for all my previous and actual vehicles (Toyota, Lexus, Mazda and Subaru)....and I've never had any problems with them....
When I got my LX450 and joined this forum ('ih8mud') I was very surprised to find that amayama is almost unknown here for some weird reason.... Amayama is extremely well known and popular in Europe, Japan and Australia....

As I could find, their prices are significantly (and I really mean significantly...) lower than any domestic (North America) vendor for OEM parts let alone dealers.....!!!!!! and sometime their prices for OEM parts are lower than NA vendors prices for aftermarket similar parts !!!!???? it is crazy... but that's what I found.....you can check for yourselves at amayama.com.

To TeeDiggs.....at amayama you can get ANY OEM part for your car except windshield ...I think.....

regards,

Was 04371-36030 superseded by 04371-60070?

ToyoDIY shows 04371-36030 for my rear shaft. But when I find that part on Partsouq, it shows up for Front shaft. (as does 04371-60070)

Weird, Partsouq must be wrong (with their description). Haven't seen that yet!

I'll order 04371-60210, thank you beno :)
Just ordered my U-joint from beno last week. Expect it to be arriving today. Not looking forward to the swap, especially since the existing joint seems fine but the zerk broke off and I can no longer ensure lubrication (nor do I know how long it has been that way from PO), but am looking to the piece of mind once done.

What does it mean when a part number changes? Have they really made a change to a part with a 30 year run?

Not necessarily to the part itself.

The part number represents WAY more than what the ostensive material in front of you is.

Part numbers really are the gateway into the internal logic of both the TPS and of the entire Toyota keiretsu system bound by systems of manufacture as well as procurement.
