Hey hey! I have found a couple threads regarding Landcruisers and 16" split rims, but haven't found anything on the 15". This is a 1993 Dyna 200. These tires appear to be 28 x 7.5 x 15. The bead of these tires seems to extend pretty far down. Does anyone know if I can run a similar tire, say a 225/75R15 or a 235/70R15? Will any normal tire fit on these split rims? Thanks!

I would think any 15" tire that will fit within the recommended rim width would be good to go. Call a tire shop and run it by them to be sure.
the only tire shop near me said the otherwise unfortunately, it appears that this size tire is only common on fork lifts in the USA. so my options to match this tire are to import them from elsewhere, or move to a new wheel size. since this lug pattern also doesn't exist in the USA at all, it's a bigger project than just getting tires. I was hoping someone had experience with this on the forums.

What is the reason they gave that another common size 15 won't fit? How wide is the rim?

I have 1948 rims on my antique Ford pickup that originally had 6.00-16 tube type tires. One shop said I had to run tube type tires. But many people run radials so I checked around and other shops said no problem. I'm been running 235/85R-16 radials for years now. One of the rims I had for the spare was split rim but I found another non split rim so I sold the split rim.

Just my experience. I'm certainly not a tire expert so I'd believe the tire shop. Might be worth calling other shops though. Maybe that shop just didn't want to deal with it.

I know the frustration, my 52 Ford F3 originally had 17" "Widow Maker" rims which are not serviced by anyone and are unsafe. Common 8 lug bolt pattern but nothing modern will fit over the huge brake drums. So options are custom rims, search out junk yards for old 19" motor home rims or axle swap. I get it.

Good luck with your project and follow up on this thread if you find your solution.

I put in a 1972 Dana 60 rear and I can use more modern Ford 8 lug rims. I went with the 1948 Ford F2 rims so they were at least period correct and I could keep my hub caps.
