Is there anyone here that has done a 14b or 11b dyna engine conversion in a fj40 land cruiser.Im planning on fitting a 11b engine to a land rover and im searching for a 4x4 gearbox to fit to the 11b.I want to know how fast i will be going if i fit a fj40 gearbox with transfercase.

Cruiserparts and LCH both got back to me on Bell housing-back parts. CP says they can get me everything I need for around $3500 (from a 3B rig). LCH is checking with their Dubai location and will be getting back to me, but should be able to source parts from a 13bt 70 series. Apart from the 13bt parts being newer, I don't believe there is much making them any better? May be some variations in bell housings I need to research, and confirm flywheel compatibility. But I should have a few sources for non-engine parts, at least.

I am sure you are as sick of hearing about this topic as I am researching it. Per normal I am doing a manual swap into my BJ74... which would be cool and all if I didn't have a 1989 which means I have an 8 bolt. Literally the hardest damn flywheel to come across (and i live in japan at that)

the parts vehicle i am getting is most likely a 6 bolt. we haven't been able to open it up yet and then year/month of the cruiser is basically right on the line between 6 and 8 bolt. (but I don't have that kind of luck anyway)

So in my research I have found a part number for the 13bt 8 bolt flywheel...

Going back to June 2011, the diesel mechanic gave me the following report on the state of my 3B...

My options were:

  1. rebuild,
  2. 13bt, or
  3. 14bt
I found a couple of importers in Malaysia that had plenty of 14bts, I got quotes for $3500 - $3800 direct to my door.


Then, I found a 14bt in a BJ70 in Vic, $5000 for the whole vehicle including a H55f and anything else I wanted to keep before parting out the rest. This looked like the best option to me, but...

Hi.I Will be getting a toyota dyna 14b 4x2 gearbox and using a transfercase in the back.Im trying to find out if a land cruiser 80 series transfercase can be modified to work as a divorced transfercase.I do know that the land rover lt230 transfercase can be modifies to work as a divorced transfercase
