anyone know where to find an old oneton or the old desiel motors or axles. im building a runner and want to desiel it all toyota if possible.

We got very few diesels in the US, most people looking to do a Toy diesel swap get something from overseas. Check in the FAQ thread there is a link to a Mud member with a 2LT (I think) in his pickup. As far as axles the stock ones are pretty stout, I wouldn't bother swapping unless you want full width. What year of Runner are you building?

IMO the best way to do a Toy Diesel is to swap in a VW diesel engine from a passat/jetta.

TDIclub.com has info that you can find, and even a walkthrough of a guy doing it.

The diesels used the same axles as the gas vehicles, they're more than strong enough.

I love my 2LT-E though.

www.toyotadieselmadness.com for lots more info. The 2LT-E is as much of a dud as Toyota ever made, so go 1KZ-TE or 3L. The 2L and 2L-T are apparently a bit underpowered for something with large tires.

Here's a picture of the 1985 2L in my long wheelbase Suzuki Samurai. Make sure you get a turbo diesel whichever way you go.
2L engine bay huge (with writing)500x.webp

Oh, the original poster was looking for where to get the stuff...

For the 1KZ-TE half cuts, go to JARCO www.jarcoinc.com

For engines all by themselves (not recommended for EFI engines) I think Reseda Engines is the best bet. Talk to Danny, he's pretty familiar with the Toyota diesels.

On Toyotadieselmadness right now there is a member selling some Dynas, which would have much of what you are looking for...
