Back in the mid 80's when I had my 72 FJ40 painted "flat tan" by a neighbor guy. It took almost 3 gallons of $90/gallon paint. 7 coats on the outside and 5 on the inside. Flat paint is shot as is, can't be thinned. There was like a pint left over and for way more than what it was worth to me at the time the local paint supplier would have put it in a spray can. I should have done that.
