Okay, after about a month of sorting through threads on all sorts of different forums, some being 20-plus years old. I have hit a wall; I'm in the middle of prepping a 1984 (Early build date) FJ60 350 CSB swap. My chassis is a roller currently, as its drivetrain has been pulled out for another Land Cruiser project, meaning I have to sort out the trans and split case. Luckily, I have access to the trans and split case from a 1986 BJ40 (I understand the 3B trans is different than the 2F trans and understand ebrake differences). What I'm curious about is if I plan to go H55F, could I use the split case from the BJ40? I'm aware some fab work may be needed to get things mounted in the correct locations, plus driveshaft changes. Any other advice would be appreciated. I understand that I could just throw 15 grand worth of parts at it and it would be good, but that is not my goal. I want to take baby steps, so I don't lose motivation with the truck sitting for 3 years while collecting money and parts
