For those that asked. Yes, Casual Cruiser made it home. When I made it to Rubicon Springs I decided I would never do the trail again. On top of the Cadillac Hill lookout I started strategizing about what next year could look like. I'm hooked. Thank you all for your support and encouragement.

Glad to have meet you and look forward to Next year .

You found one of the best little corners to camp in at springs, I was the one walking thru your camp to go back & forth to Dirty Dozen/ Swimmin hole, I appologize for any intrusions. Enjoyed seeing the little 40, well done.

That was a great place to camp and it gave me the opportunity to meet quite a few people as they walked past. No offense taken. Except for maybe at the little 40 comment :-)!

It looked so perfectly at home parked right there by water. Hope you enjoyed it, glad you have decided to return.

Thank you very much everyone for making Rubithon 36/Hufts a great outing. Tyler and I had a great time. Shout out to Doug, Scott, Brian and Ray for being so supportive and generous with your time, knowledge and suggestions. Hooray! Charlie

Hey Doug,

My name is Guy and this will be my third trip in my 97 5sp 4Runner. I have 35’s, a crawl box and full armor. Looking forward to another great run. Thanks for the introduction on this blog with expectations and rough schedule. It’s quite a difference from last year’s breakfast run. If you have any particular recommendations for a 4Runner I would be happy to hear them. See you up there.

Hello Guy, crawler question. Is being in FOUR HIGH and CRAWLER LOW an option? I have perhaps unwisely thought you had to be in FOUR LOW before shifting crawl gears to LOW. Please advise. TIA. Great to be with you on the trail again. Hope you and the dogs are well. Have fun in Moab. Best, Charlie 2069103413

If you have dual transfer cases you can be in low of either or both depending on what gearing you need. My 80 only has high range and low range available I can select 2wd or 4wd independently of which gear range I’m in.

I know things started off rough, but by the time we got to the springs you looked like a pro! Great job getting through on 33's!!

Just registered for this run for 2025! Super excited...first time for me on the Rubicon. My 80 is ready-ish...need to weld some reinforcements to front diff, weld frame plates around steering box, install upgraded steering box, upgrade brake lines, and extend rear bumps. Almost there!
Happy you are going to make it .

I did it last year with none of that except brake lines … left with less flares. But you’re smarter than I.

Coming back this year? I’ll be there with my 80 this year.

I admittedly have a leaky steering system (I do carry a spare box just in case). I do have a new set of RCV’s for the front on the workbench along with new Landtank front dif studs and knuckle studs.

Possibly. If I can get re-geared and shed 1000lbs from last trip lol. But I just picked up a 75 Bronco on 40s/dana70s that I’m going to do coilovers on. Rather bring it but guessing not allowed..
