Great build. I really like the radiator wish it would work on my 1995 FJ80.

Well... It's up for sale. It's on craigslist for $8500. I have called and emailed numerous times with zero luck. They are local to me and I wanted to send over a strong offer, but havn't been able to talk with anyone yet. I probably shouldn't have told him in the message I planned to take the parts I liked off it and swap them over to my LX and then resale it. The seller probably wanted it to stay in one piece and help promote the co.

I have seen that vehicle in person and actually believe my 80 gave them the inspiration to build theirs. Mine actually has more TJM goodies on it. ;) Nice folks.

Since some of you have already seen this thing in person maybe some of you can answer my questions. Does this thing have lockers? regeared? Front axle rebuilt? Stock axles and driveshafts? Exteneded brake lines? I have a bunch more questions but those are the ones I really want to know. That makes the difference between a trail ready rig and a clean sweet looking mall crawler. If it's totally built then it wouldn't make since removing parts, but if it has a totally stock drivetrain with a bunch of stuff bolted on it then unbolting the parts and bringing it back to stock for resale doesn't make me sick to my stomach. That way I get some of my investment back and can build my rig into a true trail rig.

I bet if you read through the build thread your questions will be answered. On the first page they say that they are putting in 5.29's and TJM lockers.

I saw that as well, but didn't see the post that stated that they actually did that. I have stated all types of things I "plan" to do to my rig, but few of them have actually been completed yet. I have not had the time to read through all the pages. I got through about 5 pages and still have a number of questions. I will have to read through the rest tonight.

I just read through it on my lunch break. No mention of lockers, or aftermarket axle shafts, driveshafts, gears, etc. No mention of factory lockers either. Looks like a cool build and all done with quality parts, but the drivetrain info would be REALLy nice to know. Gears, lockers, rebuilt front axle, extended brake lines, double cardon driveshafts, chromo shafts, and beefed up birfs and steering components make a HUGE difference in the value. Hopefully they will chime in here soon and clear up any confusion on what is on their rig. I am quite interested and there seems to be a few other members on here that are interested as well, but we all seem to have the same questions.

I really doubt any of that has been upgraded. It was purely a sema build and I'm 99% sure it's all bolt on stuff. What you see is what you get with this one. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

I'm pretty sure you hit the nail with that. its just a truck built to drum up interest (advertising) nothing would have been done to it that was not easy to see like lockers, gears or anything like that.

PM me your contact info for some additional info on this vehicle.

Yup

Yup x 2.

Nice looking rig. Great selection of bolt-ons. Slee rear bumper and most all TJM goodies. Just needs mechanicals now.

Hello everyone,

I am brand new to the blog and I recently purchased this rig from a TJM former employee. I am currently getting ready to put in a new transmission and rebuild the engine. I am curious as if anyone know if a 5 speed automatic transmission from a newer toyota could be adapted on my cruiser. It has the 4.0 engine and has not been re-geared... maybe in the future...

thank you all for your feedback and comments.

Thank you, I was trying to see if could adapt a Tundra or Tacoma newer generation transmission and maybe also the engine to make it more fuel efficient, have the extra HP, and a new power plant...
