I've looked at all the threads about both bumpers. Just trying to decide which one I like better, the ARB Combination Bar or the TJM T13 Outback.

Any pluses or minuses to either that you guys can share?

I like the look of both, maybe the TJM a little more. I do light offroading, but will be getting into the heavier stuff eventually. Not going to be installing a winch just yet, but will some day.

Hey neighbor, sending you a pm.

I would like to mention that the ARB has more flexibility in the signal / fog light department as we've seen Labrak and other companies producing some cool looking LED's that 1) replace the fog light or 2) replace the whole signal / fog apparatus - like member Sonk76 recently installed.

If your going with a LED light bar then who cares.

The TJM is sweet, and the absence of the "center bar" makes for a more flush LED light mount.

I wonder if one bumper is more compatible with a variety of winches - that could be a game changer down the road as your offroad needs increase.

Dissent

Slee blueberry is too plain for me. Dissent is nice, but also plain and a bit too squared off. I have narrowed it down to just the ARB and TJM. Does anyone with both bumpers have feedback? Thanks everyone.

I had an ARB and I wouldn't buy another. I found it susceptible to corrosion, but I'm in the northeast US, so I may be dealing with environmental issues that aren't a problem for you. I like the prep and powder coating that Slee does, and will buy one when my budget allows.

Interesting, Haven't heard that one when compared to the arb or tjm [emoji3]
I don't remember which model tjm I was looking at but I do remember the outer wings seamed flimsy!

There are a lot of great options out there but it sounds like your leaning towards the ARB or TMJ route ..

So in an effort to be helpful to the actual thread question I dug up some pics from member rs6tofj80 build thread as his rig is similar to yours with the headlights etc

We recently went through a similar decision process prior to installing the ARB on my son's LC at Christmas. His final 3 were ARB, TJM & Ironman.

We liked the cost difference of the Ironman but we thought that it looked slightly out of proportion.

We kind of liked the look of the TJM's angled center supports, but over the last 20+ years TJM has had a bit of a rocky history with distribution in the US.

We ended up going with the ARB. We took advantage of 4WP's "free shipping" and had it at the local store and in hand in < 24 hours.

The fog lights are a little "cheesy" for the price, but overall fairly pleased with our decision and would do the same again.

Mainline overland has some definitely "not cheesy" replacement inserts for the ARB fogs.

Definitely not cheesy, but maybe a little pricey...

Check out the mounting hardware. My former tjm was held on by one layer piece of steel, whereas my replacement arb has sturdy mounting brackets that wrap around the frame.

I have a tjm t13. It was on the truck when I bought it. I recently took it off to install a winch. You can see the winch mounting cage/platform which is very solid. The bumper then bolts to the winch cage. Overall a good design. Looks strong. The cage has built in recovery points attached to the frame rail mounts. They are beefy.

That being said, if this bumper was not already on my car, I would have ordered a dissent bumper, as I prefer high clearance, and not so big of a bumper.

Glad to trade if anyone wants (not likely)!

Maybe the op would like a good used bumper[emoji1]

Does anyone have a similar shot of the arb mounting? The beefy recovery points on the tjm are nice but the clearance loss would be a deal breaker for me! It looks like you loose clearance from stock with the tjm. If you do plan on getting into some harder Trails in the future this will likely cause an issue. Not trying to talk you into my bumper but just trying to give you some things to consider while making your decision.
Here you can see that my brackets are about a 1/2" below the bottom of the frame and the bumper is even above that, in billygoats pics it looks as of the bumper and brackets hang several inches below.

If anyone has some pics of the arb mounting it may be helpful.

Don't have any install pics but here pics of the outside and inside of the mounting brackets on the arb combo.

I have run them both- ARB on my 80, and TJM on my 100. The cradle thing TJM does is pretty clever, IMO.. the winch is solid, and the bumper is more of a trim piece. On ARB, it was all more like one unit.

One other difference is the center bar down low- there isn't one on TJM, which makes it a natural place to put lights. When you put lights on the ARB it looks a little busy, IMHO...

Here you can see the difference, compare this

I also saw a newer TJM this weekend with upgraded turn signals. A lot of the older turn signal lenses you see will be yellow and hazy.. but they seem to have upgraded that. That was my one knock against, and looks like it's been addressed.
