Is the ARB sahara for the 100 Series the same strength as the sahara that BBQ has?...I am not following you. Perhaps your are over-thinking this a little?

Dont get BBQ started or he will ask about AirBag compatibility of the winch.. :flipoff2:

Placed my order for the TW12 today along with other recovery equipment. Duncan is a great guy to work with! Thanks for setting this up Paul!

Yeah. Duncan is a cool dude. Very smart too! Can you update us with your ship-to location and shipping fees as that information becomes available?

I planned a time with him to discuss the specifics of his recovery gear as many of us are either tacking it on to our orders or at least interested in it. It does appear to be a great bargain when compared to other gear out there.

Can you post pics of the solenoid box? Is he still using the goofy curved bottom? Or is the box square all the way around? I won't buy another Titan is the bottom is curved, too damn hard to mount it elsewhere.

I'll see if I can get some more detailed pictures of it.

I believe it is still molded. The unique shape is to better manage moisture ingress/egress compared to other designs. Duncan did not want the opening facing downward as it exposes the solenoid to additional moisture contamination. Duncan has a specific reason why each component is designed the way it is and can give you a 5-10 min talk on each part of his product.

You may want to hit up BBQ as he moved his solenoid box and posted some good pics of the process.

Brock, did you move your's too? If so, do you have anything to add?

TW12 winch, tree saver, snatch strap, 2 shackles, and pulley shipped to Michigan for $800 CND - roughly $777 USD. Fed Ex says 2 days.

Sorry. Still thinking about my t-bars to be done soon. My thoughts were the arb combo bar can utilize a 12000lb winch. But they say that the sahara bar bumper can utilize up to what a 9000lb winch? The question i had was if arb doesn't state that the sahara bar bumper can utilize a 12000lb winch, is it merely because of a space limitation that the bumper has, or is it structurally not as strong as the combo bar? (ie maybe they use stronger metal in the combo bar?) I'm thinking it's a matter of space limitation within the bumper itself. Does that make sense?

Mine is a flat bottom.... I got last year and I was able to mount mine upside down under top deck of front bumper to keep it out of elements but still easily accessible...can see it in my build thread. Mine is not the most current solenoid box....as my wireless receiver is in the box not removable like one shown in pictures. it is updated from the one I had three years earlier quite a bit though....and proves Duncan is always making improvements where he can.

Duncan was very easy to work with. I called for the winch group buy but ended up buying several recovery items. I compared his prices and they are better than most everywhere else. He also gave some break on the price of those as toward the group buy. In other words just talk to him and he will take care of you.

In my case I didn't need the tire deflators since I already have a nice set of Stauns. Instead he gave me some credit toward other items I ordered.

FYI, Duncan picked the tire deflators because they were small, lightweight, and he could throw them into the box without increasing the shipping charges. If you switch them out be prepared for more shipping.

I just checked my tracking number. Duncan said he would ship the winch today, well it was actually shipped yesterday! The delivery right now is next Friday. So that would be 6 business days in transit from Ontario to Seattle. About what I expected for the long haul.

The latest picture that Duncan sent pfran42 shows a normal square case like a Warn. I highly doubt he sent an outdated photo.

When I placed my order I didn't ask if the solenoid box was perfectly square. However I did ask if I could easily remove it from the winch and mount somewhere on the bumper and/or engine bay. Duncan said yes no issue at all as long as the cables reach or I replace with longer cables. I would think he would mention any issues with box shape.

Post #1 has been updated with more pics and descriptions of the solenoid cover box and a neat synthetic line mounting bracket that is included with the TW12.

Fireguy, I hope this addresses your questions!

So, we only have 2 people that have actually ordered? If anyone else has actually ordered, please let me know and I will update post #2.

Man, thanks for all of your legwork Paul! You've really helped put together both a great value for MUD members as well as an informative post.

So with looking and how the mounting tabs are molded into the base, what is recommended for a mounting solution inside the engine bay? I guess I had assumed it would have screw tabs that stuck out the side.

I plan on ordering Monday.

Guess no one saw me ask this above:

What is the weight on the 12K with synthetic?

Not certain but someone said it is 38 lbs lighter than with the steel line. I'll check later today. Why do you ask? For shipping estimates?

Nah, just curious how much weight it's adding up front.

Also, does the included hawse fairlead work with an 03+ ARB bumper?!?

On my FJC you had to use a unique styled hawse with an ARB like this.

Look at BBQ boy('s) thread. He has a pic of the front of his rig on there post winch install. Different model ARB but i'd imagine they are very similar. There are also quite a few other pics of him modding the winch and moving the solenoid and remote plug.

He is using a steel roller fairlead with synthetic line. Delrin rollers would be better for synt.

Anyone else know if the included fairlead works on an ARB bumper?!?
