Let me look for the business card it's a small shop close to the border. They also told me they could fix the foam on the passenger seat.

I've seen guys just used steam injected into the foam to give it new life. Zero clue how long it lasts but at he time it was impressive.

Hey guys, stopped at Champs today to drop off my passenger seat. I am going to goto Keystone (aero dr) for my selection on fabrics and then bring them over for the retrofit. I did ask that they fix the foam at the same time as well.

The shop was right down the street from Total Fitness in the center of TJ, crossing the border it's going to take you MAYBE 5 minutes to get there.

They are pretty busy and turn around time is around saturday if I bring everything in tomorrow and thursday. total cost for the job $4000 pesos, about $260. I expect the price to drop if I bring my own materials.

I have a 96 LC with the usual tear in the bottom of the driver's side seat. Do you think Champs can just stitch back together the drivers seat without having to replace the whole seat? My leather is in decent shape its just the spit that bothers me.

That said, a turnkey deal of $4000 pesos for both front seats seems really great. To confirm, you are taking both your front seats (driver and passenger) into Champs separate from your vehicle and leaving it with them until they finish? I would love to see some pictures and your final thoughts on workmanship and quality.

I did the steam injection way to "Pop" the foam, it helps a bit but I will buy a new foam instead if I have to do it again. Just my 2 peso ;)

I had my DS & PS seats done locally in Chula Vista.
National Upholstery - Victor Ruiz(owner) paid around $400
(I only replaced the torn/bad sections)
PS; Bottom cushion - front panel, left and right panel sides replaced
DS; Bottom cushion - front panel and left panel side replaced
DS; Back cushion - left and right panels replaced; also second rib(?) from the bottom.
The leather is not a perfect match(I was shown the leather that was going to be used prior to the start of the job) , but I'm happy with the work.
Victor is very friendly. Dropped off seat in the morning and had it back that afternoon.

Paul,

That's correct, brought down the first seat and going to try to bring the 2nd one in tomorrow along with my fabric selection. I am going to a cloth system, I hated the way I slid around on the pleather in the truck. I'll definitely get some pics posted once I see the final outcome.

Thanks Robar and Mike. Sounds like two excellent options.

Hey guys went to keystone today and picked out my fabrics. Im gonna drop it off tomorrow.

You need an acct to get a deal there, But it still cost me $135 for all the fabric. The vinyl has a 1.8 million "rub" wear rating, standard stuff is around 100,000.

Dropped both off, with my fabric the cost is coming out to $3000 pesos from the shop.

Will update with pics when completed =D

We should start thinking group buy on this upholstery

Heres some pics as i wait to take them home

They have some great application pics in the background!

Oh....and the seats look great too! I would be happy with that!

Wow! Those seats look really good. Well done.

Wow! I like that design, half leather and cloth. It has the look of luxury without burning your ass in the summer and freezing it in the winter.

So i got the seats in, my plan worked awesome. No more slip n slide.

They put new foam in and the seats feel great. Anyone in the san diego area feel free to meet up to check out the work. I live in eastlake.

Im going to take a few pics in the car so you guys can see how i worked the tones, its not perfect but i like it.

These look great!
