Ticking sound in front left wheel of landcruiser 100

Hey guys,

I have had this ticking sound in my left front wheel for a while now. Seems to go away if I steer left, but gets louder when steering right and it also goes away after I take it through a car wash. I'm including a video so you can see and hear it. If you have any ideas what this might be, I would love to hear them! Thank you

I don't know what it is, but the tick seems to coincide with one rotation of the CV...if you watch the large side outer boot clamp, it's always exactly one rotation per click.

Put the front in the air and have someone spin the tire by hand and see if you can recreate the click. If you can, then lay under the truck with a mechanic's stethoscope and you should be able to pinpoint where it's coming from.

i feel like i dont even need to say this, but just incase, there's not something black hanging loose on the inside of your wheel right? the video makes it look like there is but im sure that's just a mark on your wheel that isn't clear with the frame rate

i was thinking initially since it's worse on turns that it's probably something internal to the hub like a wheel bearing, but Ive never heard a bad wheel bearing sound like that

my car makes a ticking noise (not like yours) on right turns only, but it's from the dust shield. it's the entire reason i clicked this post. for this to be your dust shield though it would have to be that the dust shield is bent and at the same time something on the rotor or connected to the rotor is also slightly off and hitting it each rotation

the easiest thing to do is to remove the wheel and see if it makes the noise with the wheel off. if it does, should be easy to find. if it doesn't, you'll need to do what trunk monkey said. to me it just sounds like there's something hanging a little loose and hitting a part that rotates each wheel spin though and nothing catastrophic
