I am a NEWBIE today so I'm still trying to learn the ropes. I posted this earlier in Redline Cruisers forum I believe.
I have not been able to lower my idle on my 32-36 Weber carb on my 1976 FJ40 2F 4 Speed after re-assembling from a head gasket job. It is also drinking gas like like nobody's business. Yesterday I changed the fluid in the front and rear diffs and was just about ready to start the transmission and transfer case but have not located the fill plugs for either.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not a webber guy. Hook up a vacuum gauge. Mixture and such have tapered needled seats and screws - If there is a ring on the screw (from someone wrenching down on it, then adjusting correctly will be very hard). You need to turn adjustment like an 1/8 of a turn and wait for the effect then make a new small change.

Check for vac leaks. I use a can or WD-40 with a pee tube. Cold engine idling as best it can - quickly and lightly spray along all the intake gasket surface including the joints in the carb. If rpm's kick up there is your vac leak. Have a fire extinguisher handy just in case

I still have my stock carb. I honestly don't know why I went to the Weber, too many years ago. They rig sat for 20 years in my front yard until I retired. Do you know who I can contact for the Aisin linkage to the throttle?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you running a mechanical fuel pump or an electric fuel pump? Weber carbs are sensitive to fuel pressure and electric pumps generally require a fuel pressure regulator to keep the pressure down to 2.5 psi to 3.5 psi. If the fuel pressure is to high it can cause flooding and poor running.

Disconnect whatever makes your carb accelerate from the carb and try readjusting. Then you’ll know if it’s the carb or the linkage/cable.😉
