Throttle cable linkage on Weber carb?

Those who have installed Weber carbs on your 40 did you have to get a new throttle cable? Should I just make a mount for it?

Remove the extra boss, drill hole larger, throw weber in garbage can.

Definitely not plug and play. There are a ton of threads on linkage, cables and jetting.

I ran a 32/26 for years but it was never 100%. Opinions run from a well set up original carb built by one of the guys here to the Sniper.
I went 5.3 and left that all behind.
