Man it’s coming together nice, I bet your chomping at the bit to get ‘r done!

New plumbing going in. First step, use forklift to get on roof (triple mast FTW).

We needed to put a pipe support around the 4” cast iron vent so it didn’t drop once we started cutting on it.

Next, everything got sliced off a few inches above the slab. We put a shut off valve on the water supply line so the building can be shut off & drained before heading to The Very Large Array or some other EAF experience and not have to worry about a pipe bursting...

Next step, replace everything. Shop sink on the shop side of the wall. Sink & toilet on the bathroom side. Also a hose bib on the inside for fun.

We’re draining the shop sink into the 4” so we can wash knuckles or throw chicken bones down the drain without fear of a clog.

I’ve not done any plumbing in 10+ years, and am only accustomed to copper, but my cruiser-plumber friend said pex is the way to go.

Next up, sheetrock, door, fixtures...

Pex pipe and a manifold are the way to go. In a house anyway, in a shop there are only a couple places it could be leaking. I love it. Looking forwarding to heading over to see it soon.

Interior racks, desk, tables assembled and waiting for the final positioning before we bolt them in...

We also got the replacement second AC unit installed and running. The first one arrived damaged, but we had to leave it in the wall since it plugged the hole.

Bathroom sheetrocked...

Once it's painted, we'll put all this junk in there and call the inside done and start moving things over...

We are plumbed!

The second AC is rocking. I put them both on “Eco” mode and auto fan, and the second one actually cycled on/off (temp is set a little higher than the bigger one) and it is hot as balls today.

This are 28K and 25K units, 900-ish square feet. 30’x30’x14’

A friend at my old office ran the heat load for me and came up with needing 6 tons (72,000 btu), which is insane. I’ve reduced the infiltration big time and did sprayfoam the ceiling, but this is an uninsulated hollow block building with big ass single pane windows and a garage door.

If this were perfectly insulated and sealed, the rule of thumb is 400 sf/ton, and my single bigger unit would be enough.

These are doing a badass job with the humidity. It’s been 30-35% RH inside, which I’m loving.

The place looks absolutely fab, Cameron. About time now to transition from cash-negative shop improvements to cash-positive vehicle upgrades. This space will be perfect for that, but lets see pics of vehicles from now on.

We’re almost there!

I’ve got about a dozen motors fighting to get to the front of the line, and two super cool projects that will be up first...

Finishing a clean LS swap into this nice 60:
