Put a tee in line with a couple knife or ball valves so you can control which way the hose runs then run one hose through the fender skirt down just bellow the outside of the frame, if your into submerging your rig.
I made one and installed it on my 3B engine and works great. this is made typical older AC delco AC accumulator with large inlet and outlet and I used one of the smaller line for oil returned and kept away from engine. The hot oil from engine enter the accumulator and cools off and remaining air exit out to the bottom of the truck while collected oil returns back to a T with oil return from alternator in to oil pan.
Why isn't anyone putting a check valve on the bottom and feeding the oil back into the oil pan, alternator return or similar oil return and just letting it feed back into the engine?

There's only a couple teaspoon fulls over about 5000kms...not worth the effort ... hell, with this small amount I'm even considering to just ditch the can..

Well, if i was going to teh effort of putting in a catch can i'd probably go the effort of putting a T fitting in the the alt oil return.
edit: actually if i was going to do the catch can I would also run it to the intake instead of to atmosphere, unless it had a down spout, just to prevent water from getting in it from water crossings.
Just a thought....(it happens every now and then), does the oil mist that is blown through into the inlet pipe help cool the impeller blades in the turbo? Bearing in mind that turbos have been known to glow red hot and the oil mist/air which is at crankcase temp would be at a lot lower temp and in conjunction with the the air from the filter be beneficial?
Can anyone certify hose size to the Air Box and valve cover for 1HD-T ..
Measure valve cover / air box ports to use something between 21/32 and 11/16 not sure 11/16 hose ID even exist .. coz my Mishimoto Catch can have 9/16 ports ..
I like the FAF ( fit and forget) approach to things. I agree that Mr T knew what he was doing, but we all do so like to fiddle and play and boost ( and over-boost) so catch cans have their place.
Is it not possible to drain these thing back into the sump via a one way valve??

Installed mine this last weekend ( gotta take pics ) and end using 5/8 bit small ( but doable ) for factory fittings in my 1HD-T and bit bigger for Mishimoto catch can .. so a good happy medium ..
Catchcan it's empty .. I mean it came factory empty, should I add something in to help it doing the right job .?
Thread bump. On a 2B engine (road draft tube vents straight down to the ground), would using a length of high temp. oil hose back behind the rear axel be detrimental at all to the crank case pressure?
I'm reading there is a "venturi effect" that draws the gasses out when air passes over the bottom of the tube.
If my only goal is to mitigate some of the fumes that waft back into the cabin in traffic, would an extended hose be a safe option? The angle of the hose would be routed at a declining angle, so pooling oil shouldn't be an issue. My concern is what that extended hose will do to the pressure. Thanks in advance!
