You have clearly never been on a mob hit-list....

I get what your saying... but remote start is such a "soft" feature that no adult male should even consider using it in the first place - let alone pay extra for it.

Difference in option from someone living in NC verse CO. I use my remote start nearly daily in the winter. It’s nice to have the windshield defrosted prior to departure. Warm seat does not hurt either.

It's nice in any climate. I've never worried my vehicle being comfortable would make me less of a man lmao. You just see the darndest opinions on the internet sometimes.

How much time does it take till your car gets comfortable? How much gas do you burn up in the process - every day?

Anyways, if you must immediately be nice and comfy, you can accomplish this the old fashioned way by taking the 1 minute (or less?) to simply walk out to your driveway and turn the vehicle on yourself. Then you can go back inside and finish your makeup while it warms up.

Or if that's too much, pay extra for remote start (and gas)!

Remote Start is a very useful feature.

Does it cost just to use it or is the subscription only if using it from the App as opposed to the Key fob?

Hi I'm considering getting the Landcruiser Trim, and have gone from thinking the Premium Package is a must to now thinking it may be a waste of money. I wanted to start a thread to get people's thoughts on the options it includes and what other owners are considering

Land Cruiser Premium Package - MSRP $4600 includes these options
— 14-speaker JBL® * Premium Audio
- This is a nice to have, but very curious how the standard 10 speaker system is.
— illuminated entry with illuminated running boards,
- I don't think I value this feature.
— Digital Key * capability,
- I don't think I value this feature.
— power moonroof w/sunshade
- This is a nice to have, but also can be optioned separately. Wouldn't be a decision factor.
— center console cool box
- Originally I thought this would be really cool to have, but I've seen comments about how small it is and space you loose in the center console. Very curious what other's think about this feature.
— digital rearview mirror,
- Doesn't matter to me.
—Qi-compatible wireless charging,
- This is a nice to have, but not a big decision factor. Does anyone know if AA/AC are wireless? Otherwise it would be almost useless.
— leather-trimmed memory/power driver's seat
- I do like leather, but I've heard good things about softex reliability and temperature in the summer. Curious if others see leather as a value add feature.
— Head-Up Display (HUD),
- Doesn't matter to me.
— Lane Change Assist (LCA), * Front Cross-Traffic Alert (FCTA), * and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) * (requires Drive Connect * trial/subscription; 1-year trial included. *) 4G network dependent.
- Very unfamiliar with these features and drive connect cost, curious what others think about this functionality.

Please let me know what you think of the premium options and whether you plan to add the option. There is already a lot of premium features in the base Landcruiser Trim, so
Biggest

Main reason I’m going with Premium package is auto passenger seat. Who spends $70m for a manual passenger seat. Not an option by itself, as far as I know.

I’m pretty confident Toyota plans to sell more premium editions than any other trim level. They did a good job wrapping up many deal breaking options for many buyers into that package. For me it was the leather, stereo upgrade and the moonroof (I know I can get that separate). Everything else is icing on the cake. I considered an aftermarket leather install with just a roof upgrade.

14-speaker JBL® * Premium Audio: The standard is fine in my opinion, but I probably would've liked this.

Illuminated entry with illuminated running boards: Don't care.

Digital Key * capability: I hate digital/app stuff. Literally quicker to have a physical device than a stupid app. And Driving as a Service? LOL

Power moonroof w/sunshade: Cool, but I see most of my driving under the sun. So it would've been closed most of the time.

Center console cool box: Sounds cool, but the center console is pretty small. I don't think a 500 ml bottle would fit.

Digital rearview mirror: Would be pretty useful actually. Was hauling a computer desk over yesterday and it was blocking my rearview.

Qi-compatible wireless charging: No. Just no. Phones constantly change their size every year. By the end of this year or start of next year, the new phones would be larger than the charging space. Plus, I like wires than wireless. This is honestly one of the worse feature of all.

Leather-trimmed memory/power driver's seat: I don't like leather seats. Wish the 1958 had a stabilizing bar disconnect. If it had, that would be perfect. Kinda wished the memory seats were standard.

Head-Up Display (HUD): No. Sounds annoying. I like a clear window.

Lane Change Assist (LCA), * Front Cross-Traffic Alert (FCTA), * and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) * (requires Drive Connect * trial/subscription; 1-year trial included. *) 4G network dependent: No, again, sounds annoying.

So, out of the 10, there's maybe 4 features I would like but would be absolutely annoyed to hell or not bother with.

Maybe its different with the LC, but with my 4Runner the FOB remote start still works when you dont pay for the Connect subscription... Only the phone remote start no longer worked. (As expected) Tough to test with the LC right now as Im on the free trial.

Dont use remote start a lot, but when its -30 celsius and coming outside to your car, its a nice treat. (I imagine the same for those in super hot climates?)

If you dont mind sharing how do you remote start your 4Runner with the FOB, something I would love to do.

Its the exact same method...
Press lock 3 times, and on the third time you hold it for ~10 seconds. Lights will flash and vehicle will start. Not sure what years this applies to, mine was a 2020.

This works!

Anyone know the trick to rolling down all windows w/ fob?

You can try holding the unlock button, it may need to be customized by Toyota though.

I did see this but was hoping there was a secret click. I’ll get this coded at dealer soon

I cant find any mention of the remote start feature even existing in the manual. Very glad to know it works because Im already annoyed with the app.

From what Ive read, it doesnt list the 250 as supported yet, but when you plug it in all the programmable features are there for modification.
I saw this as well, although it’s missing the HUD adjustments that are available on the Tundra. My HUD is not properly aligned right now so I’ll need to get the dealer to fix.
