Holy sheit. Its an invasion! Ban him!

think it might be some sort of wart as it looks like it has roots going into the ear. Either way take it to a vet!

That can't be a wart! IT HAS TEETH AND CLAWS!!!! ARRRGGHH!!

are those teeth and claws for sure? They may be a warts root. I have seen it before. When i was younger (8th grade) they had us do an autopsy on some cadavers and one older man had a HUGE plantars wart on his heels. It had roots like that upon further inspection. We also found his lungs looked like a heavy smokers although it was listed as a heavy smoker. We did some research and found out he was a bartender for years. Weird eh?

OMG i can;t explain how brave you were for even thinking about touching that nasty ass thing, you better check your orifices every hour on the hour and take a lime bath and drink some rubbing alcohol.

Rubbing alchohol will make you go blind.

Oh wait... Eric's already well down that path from other activities.

:flipoff2:

Actually, it's true about the rubbing alcohol thing, it is converted to formaldehyde in your eyes and kills your rod/cone cells. But you have nicely preserved retina's!

Post up when these pics have made it all they way around the internet. I'm predicting in about 2 weeks one of my jackass Friends will e-mail the alien dog wart pics to me.

How's the dog? Was that painful?
Russ

Kinda looks like a keratoacanthoma, a benign skin tumor thing. Grow fast, hurt nothing. Of course I'm basing that on human dermatology. Could definitely be a parasite based lesion. Take the pics and tissue and dog to the vet, or post the pic in an online vet forum...

If they were wart roots, wouldn't the roost be inside the dogs ear? The thing has claw/fingernails!!!

BAN WOB

My vote is a bot fly larva (Oestridae). The caudal end of the larvae have spines that may look like teeth, or they could be breathing spiracles. What happens is that an animal will recieve a wound, doesn't have be much, and the female fly will lay an egg in the wound. Egg hatches, larva burrows into the skin, and feeds upon the host. Larva later pupates and a new fly is on the way to keep the cycle going :D . Shouldn't really cause any problems for your dog, just looks real bad.

I've known a couple of fellow biologists who spent time in the tropics and came back with one in their arm. In the name of scientific curiosity they allowed the larva to live until pupation. Good conversation piece. And they're still ok, well as ok as they ever were. :D

Fawking Sick! I can't believe that thing is affecting me like this......Can't turn away, can't look at it....
