i have been getting a vibration that has been getting worse threw out the two weeks that it started. at low speeds excelerating from 20-40 i get this bad vibration any thing over 40 its not to bad but on the highway doing anything over 60-75 when i let off the gas completly i get a rumbling vibration wtf could this bee any thought
i was thinking that it might be the u joints or a bent drive shaft so i took of the drive shaft and brought it inside to inspect u joints looked good and did not have any play, they were put on before the winter so i am almost certin it's not them plus i gressed them last week.
while it was off i checked for any play in the 3rd none nice and tight. i put a strait edge in the DS and i looded fine there was no scaring on the DS do it dident get hit
after putting the DS back on i filled the tires from 30 to 40 and adjusted the rear brakes some of the vibration had gone but there is still some there.
i did notice that drivers side rear tire was missing a weight but i don't think that would be causing all this vibration
I'd check to see if your e-brakes are hanging up, I had a wicked vibration right after I got the Caird, and the arms at each rear wheel were rusted up so it was not disengaging fully..... Try cruising around wiout the rear shaft in, just lock the hubs and throw it in 4wd. If it goes away.... Then you have your answer....
model and make is in my sig line, 88 4runner 4" sas
i weights on the drive shaft look good havent lost any
i almost think its coming from the front wheel bearings there is no noise but i almost feels like its coming from them if its nice this weekend i will disasemble and inspect them and regrease
Nat is it under a load that you get the vibration? Could be a cluch going south, or listen for a squeeking noise, could be a pilot bearing. Where do you hear the noise? floor boards, seat, around the shifter area?

that had crossed my mind about the clutch but it has less than 15,000 miles on it
there is not really any noise but a vibration i do feel it by my feet but i am not sure if that is a reverberation from somewhere else
when i put the clutch in it is still there but not as bad and the vibration is stronger under load

If you get the same vibration (and not just a "rough idle" feel) when the vehicle is at idle and not moving, such as when stopped for a light or stop sign, then it's certainly not drivetrain.
