Thanks for the updates. At least you know there is interest still. ;)

It made it to the third page. That is unacceptable. Back to the first page with this.

thanks again for the replies guys. i seem to keep falling further behind with this project all the time.

my daughter had strep throat so i had to stay home with her for a week and then i got a nasty cold/flu. and now it's x-mas and........not much work getting done these days. :frown:

but there's light at the end of the tunnel, things should be coming together a lot better in the new year. so please keep being as patient as you are and i'll make it worth your while.:)

Georg, when i was at a junk yard today looking for parts, i ran across an Sag PS box. Looking at it gave me an idea for the RHD steering. Would it be possible to build a mount for a sag, and replace the existing steering box, and then continue to use the rest of the original steering trackbar/linkage?

thanks for the reply.

i know what yo7u mean, but i'm not a big fan of the bell-crank style oem steering linkage for a few reasons:

1) more parts, more chance for slop and failure
2) very limited to tire size; the 33x9.50s on my troopie already hit the relay rod
3) very common for the tre at the box to bend where it screws into the relay rod

clearance is definetly an issue, even more so with the diesel and rhd rigs than any other cruiser i've worked on. it's also part of the reason why it has taken me so long to get a working prototype completed..........

How are you doing with this?

one word?! horrible.......

i lost my part-time helper so i'm even more back logged at the shop with "regular" cruiser work. but, there is light at the end of the tunnel. i am hiring a full time employee next week to help out with the work load. once i get caught up a little i will get back to this project.
having had to take a break from this allowed me to put some more thought into it which i think will work out well.

At least your doing well enough to hire a full time guy. That's got to feel good in this economy. ;)
