These new aluminium "steelie" wheels from the fjcompany are pretty sweet!

So for those that have FLCo aluminums and use stock studs and lug nuts, is this how yours look?

Mine look like that on the front, the oem lug nuts end up more or less flush with the studs.

For the rear I got longer studs for a n FJ60 to avoid the issue there. I’m still in the process of rebuilding the rear axle so I can’t tell you exactly how it turned out. Caliper measurement tell me I will end up with some thread sticking out beyond the lug nuts.

I couldn’t find a solution for a longer oem stud for the front. I do remember some aluminum wheel threads where the used aftermarket studs that were longer

It looks to me like that is an OEM type lug nut that would have a chamfer/taper on the inside where it contacts a washer? that must have come with the aluminum wheel. Have not seen those wheels but most aluminum wheels do not take steel wheel chamfered lug nuts. I like the wheel$$! I would research the correct lug nuts then change the studs to match (well that’s completely true, I would plan to change the studs for a few years and probably never get around to it because there safe enough!)

Well bummer. Sorry I misled.

Why will they not work? Curious
Absolutely no worries, it was worth a try. The stud hole on the wheels is too narrow for the neck of the extended threads on the nut. I’ll replace the studs. I’m relocating and just need to get it on a trailer if I don’t have time. I’m installing my lift, wheels and tires before the move to MT.

It appears the holes in the rim accept std style lug nuts. The manufacturer should give you guidance on lug nuts.

You can scroll thru this thread and do some searching to find longer studs that might work.

I gather the studs you used work without any issues for normal driving, light offroad? Someone else suggested 60 series studs. I appreciate your input. Thanks!

I've not had any issues with what I installed. I have a little over 12k miles on them. In the link i posted someone referenced another dorman # that has a taller knurl which might be good. Both dorman #'s have slightly larger diameter knurls and are about a 1/4" longer. There are 25.4mm in an inch. Idk anything about FJ60 studs. You would have to look at their specs. Dorman has a pretty good website to find dimensional info. I would have thought they were similar to stk fj40's. You can seach here using both dorman numbers on this site and you will find many threads on the subject. I think one number was less expensive than the other. I swapped all my studs at the time and i purchase tall chrome closed end lug nuts too, just in case I was running without a hub cap or mag wheels. I bought everything from Summit.

Some fj40 rotors used the studs to attach the rotors to the hub. My rotors use bolts. Idk what yrs used the studs.

So I’ve ordered the Dorman 610-265 studs which are referenced throughout mud. They are also what come stock in an 83 Toy Pickup fyi and are about 6.5mm longer than the 610-244 which is the Dorman stock Landcruiser #. I’ll post back when installed.

Well, I got the Hell for Stout lift on and replaced the rear studs with the Dorman 610-265 studs that are also used on an early 80’s Toy Pickup. They’re perfect. Thanks everyone for your replies and suggestions.
