The shackle looks like that because it was jacked up to fix the front mount.
And Jeff, I've been thinking about all of it. I'm trying to work out funding.
I'm doing the cage because I bartered for the tube. The bender is a Harbor freight special I traded my work for a bunch of transport chain.
I may have to start breaking into the expensive 40 parts to fund this.

I'm welding as fast as I can. Didn't think the first run at it would hold up, so I went back in to trangulate and reinforce. I'll get more pictures up soon.
Well, didn't think it would hold up until I found my free pipe was reject sch. 40. The reject part is it was sch 80 marked as 40. That would be why it was so hard to bend and cut. So the main hoop, sliders, and side of the cage are 80, while the stiffiners and cross bars are 40.

I have a set - in Ephrata
Front SRW Chevy 60 - kingpin style with passenger side diff - without brake parts (I figured 1 ton was too beefy and was going to put on something smaller!), 35 spline inners, 35 spline dodge style drive flanges. I have outers, but they are not 35 spline. You would need to get steering arms - I cut them off to fit Hummer wheels on until I got histeer arms. Also has u-bolt plates with it. I believe the diff is 4.10 but am not sure.
Rear Ford FF 60. Also missing brake parts as it was drum. Needs to be drilled to fit 35 spline. Diff is 3.??
I'll throw in a set of Dodge spring perches for the rear as well.
$450 takes both if you come and get them out of my garage.

There is a bit of debate going on about the direction this is taking(as well as some arguing). Wife broke out the "Its yours, you can do what you want" which if your married you know is the tip off she's doing the Antonio Banderas move where she tells you she dosen't want any trouble while shes reaching behind her for her guns. I watch to many movies, I know, and I'll fill everyone in when its sorted out
I want to post pictures of where its at right now, but after searching for the camera I was informed my children took it on vacation to North Carolina for two weeks.
I'll see if I can borrow one from a friend in the meantime.

Got camera. Here's pics.
We're trying to decide if its more Department of Corrections or Mad Max?
But for now its grasshopper.
Wife chose the color. I wanted hot pink.
Gonna be a while for the next phase. Dog spent 2 days in the E.R.
There went the disposable income.

The correct tubing. Wife went back and threw enough of a fit
to bring out someone else who said, "hey, thats the wrong stuff",
and then corrected it.
