That is one hell of a trail truck. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have a lot of fun, looks like your somewhat prepared with the head gasket.:wrench: Hope ya send us some pics. Luv the roof rack. How did you set the rear slide out poles ? I will want to steal that setup. I also like the bout 6in of storage. Is that costum ?

well...if you're really looking for one - theres a guy in sur here that has an 84 fj45 troopie [same as mine with slightly different interior] but in really nice condition - apaprentyl with a new from toyota engine put in not so long ago...i drove it and it is nice - real responsive...and the guy selling it swears that when he was following it, with his brother driving the 45, it got up to 160km/h...a little hard to believe...but considering its power at low speed im leaning toward thinking it might just be true...and he only wants 1700 rial...

A troopy with a new engine for $4400.00 U.S.? Post that truck up.

sweet troopy got any more pics of the rear storage setup ive got a false floor in mine level with the arches but it still means boxes sitting on top so its annoying having too unload them when camping been looking at building a new floor higher up probably level with the top of the tub

looks GREAT!

very nice restoration/buildup.

Mission accomplished

Just wanted to let all the faithful followers out there in internet land know that the trip is now over - successfully completed and all. South Africa to Oman.

no serious problems were encountered - nothing we couldn't handle at least...

I mean, it really wouldn't have been an 'african experience' if say, we never got malaria, or got held up by tribal guys wearing skins with ak47's...etc etc...which we did....

ill try and throw some pics up in the next few days

pics

so here are just a couple random pics....

we made it from Durban South Africa through Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and ended in Djibouti 8 months later...definitely good times...

Just unbelievable pics....THANK YOU for sharing. Took me away from a dreary rainy night in Georgia while working a 16 hour shift. Seriously I am envious of the sights you have encountered...and also doubly jealous of that red troop!!!:cheers:dave
