Not sure of the dates yet now. I will update when I figure it out. I'm trying to figure out everything with work today.

Cool, keep me posted. I'd love to grab lunch/dinner/beg perhaps with some of our local cruiser heads

I'm hoping I can make it to Kurt's in time. @Dragos80 has me concerned that traffic will suck. Rethinking my timeline and dates today.

Just give yourself a little more time when driving through LA. Iowa traffic time estimates do not apply here. You can get lucky and drive through with no problem. Just add 30 more minutes to our estimated time here. It's always a good bet.

From my experience, the best time to drive thru LA is 11PM-3AM during a weeknight.

For sure! It will probably be a dinner time deal.

Saturday definitely ruins that

Never driven in LA. Driven plenty in Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, and NYC. All of those suck! Looking forward to checking one more off the list! :bang:

You should be fine leaving LA, traffic to LV doesn't start till after lunch.

I have extra silicon heater hose so you probably won't need to order the kit. Might want to order few sleeved clamps.

It's a 5 minute job to check the contacts, another 10 to change them with the starter already out, although, if you are able to get the PHH outand back in with the starter in, that is great and likely not needed.

Cool. Is the silicone preferred for this over the Gates Green Stripe. I've heard conflicting opinions.

Everyone weigh in! :)

Here is what my silicon looked like after only 5 years. Some bulging, and deformation. Could be because of the aforementioned breeze clamp being over torqued.

I reinstalled with a gates green stripe bypass and reused a stock spring clamp. I used a section of 1 ¼"inside diameter tubing to act as a conduit where my new bypass hose ran next to the intake to prevent chafing.

You used standard clamps, you need sleeved clamps so the clamps won't cut into soft silicon. As you can see in your picture the inside of the hose looks new. Also don't have to make it super tight.

You have 312k on the clock. I really don't think you will have the truck long enough to find out which is better :flipoff2:

If you use silicon hose even at 210k the hose will out last the truck.

Having finally done the PHH, I am incredibly underwhelmed at its "pesky" reputation. In fact, it's the easiest of the occluded hoses on the 1FZ-FE.

I'd just use Gates Green Stripe and conventional clamps. I'm using the superty dooper silicone ultra kit and think it's gross overkill.

I used the breeze clamps that came from PHHkit.com. At any rate, there was a small gouge inside of the samco hose. I think it was pinched when I was placing the hose back on the hard bypass tube and bent it into place when reinstalling onto the block. Just my experience.

Jason got the sliders mocked up. These will be getting finished up on the trip back when I stop at his shop. Plus the top secret roof rack design. Pretty stoked.

I posted pics because @Aloha Jen called this thread "lame" because it didn't have enough pics...
