Picked up some 2x2x1/4 tube for the swing outs and 1.25x1.25x3/16 for supports for the Jerry can holder. I'm learning....

Guy who sells me metal is also going to straighten my rear bumper for me and do some welding on the swing outs.

Didn't get too much time in on the Pig last night but I did check my current swing out and it will hold fine for the time being. I unhooked my stock tag lights and ran power through the tailgate skin, through the swing arm and up through the DIY wheel mount so I can mount my license plate up there w/ light. All lines will have quick connects in case I need to pull my spare off.

Bolt attachment is going "bye bye." Ordered two latches from McMaster Carr and some hardware from IPOR for the Jerry can swing out today...I'm making this thing BEEFY.

We were on full 55 alert as we drove through Travelers Rest twice this weekend. No luck. I'll come down sometime when I have a couple of hours (if you don't mind). Going to and from Steve Smith's wedding in Atlanta, no real time to stop.

Looking good.

Thanks Todd. I was wrenching at my house Sat and in Mauldin getting some help from a bud Sun. Feel free to come down anytime...I think you have my cell #. I just spoke with Lance when ordering some DIY parts - emailed him a pic - he didn't realize this was your old Piggie! :bounce:

It seems that I'm starting to be known around TR - can't drive through the Waffle House parking lot in the Pig without getting a 'thumbs up' from the locals. :grinpimp:

I got dirty looks from the Grove Park snobs...

Lance's brain is mush. I told him all about this!

"Some tard is trying to fix my old Pig! LOL" :grinpimp:

I got a few hours in last night - will try and post some pics tomorrow. I fab'd up a license plate mount with a light but have to pick up one additional light today and will put everything together and mount tonight. For the time being it will go in the spare wheel but will be moved to the Jerry can holder once its finished.

Also was able to get my front passenger door to align correctly. Apparently I forgot to install a bolt in the upper hinge.

Tonight I hope to get the license plate holder assembled and installed, fix the front driving light, rear side red running light, and maybe install some door weather stripping to cut down on noise. Even without any weather stripping or floor mats/covering or headliner and insulation my Piggie is now quieter than it was on the drive down from MI. Once I install some Secondskin in the spring things should really quiet down. I want to keep that nice radiant heat source for the winter!

It is supposed to cool down tomorrow. Highs in the mid-60's. But folks who have come to the mountains recently to observe the leaves changing have been met with a sea of green and temperatures in the mid-80's.

 Daily driver runs on biodiesel or hybrid or pedal power....

Lighted license plate mount within the swing-out rear wheel is mounted and working - tailgate painted ODG (no more baboon but*) but still need to paint the top white.

Tonight hope to fix my lights that aren't working and finish stripping out the factory roof insulation. Need to check my gas tank vents to make sure they are working correctly. Friday hope to install my rear seat. I have to redrill mounting holes for the rear catches as the top of the wheel wells were replaced with new sheet.

And planted my garden last night - that took about an hour out of my schedule.

Thanks Yooper - I like my new avatar!

What do you plant in October? Lettuce?

TJK

Lettuce (romaine and mixed), collards, brocolli and spinach. The rabbits love me. I was a little late getting everything in this year but its been so dang hot...

They're odd in that regard. My shipments from them always show up the next day.

Nothing too exciting accomplished yesterday. I did rewire my front passenger running lights and rear passenger running lights...then took the :princess: out to dinner.

Hope to get the rear seat installed this evening.

Rear seat installed. Back seat mounts had to have new holes drilled as I replaced that area with new sheet. Was in a hurry but will go back soon and add some reinforcement. Going on a drive of the Blue Ridge Parkway tomorrow - should be fun.

Took the Piggie out for a drive today on the Blue Ridge Parkway with Upstate Cruisers. I got some awesome pics but will have to wait until tomorrow to download them as my download cord is at work.

I do have a problem that popped up on the way home. Something behind my fan is making a racket.:mad::mad::mad: It does increase with rpms and is loud enough to worry me.... Its dark now but I'll have to try and figure this out tomorrow and get it fixed before Oct 26 - Pumpkin Pig Run.

ETA: it might just be my valves...trying to confirm.
