Please PM me with the address where your LC is normally parked so I can come and steal your lower tailgate in the night.

Damn, I want one of those, but I have no overseas contacts to get one. :-(
Partsouq maybe?

Some pics from our 4day long weekend down to Bremer Bay, Western Australia, with the 60 series owners group. Dodgy weather and a few detours around some washed out beaches didn't dampen any of our spirits.... and with some fresh salmon on the bbq while we're sitting around a nice warm pot-belly with a few neat whiskey's, what would there be to complain about? No mobiles / laptops or any reception or connection of any kind with the rest of the world meant we really did escape for just a few short days! Good mates, great places, doing it in style with the 105, it doesn't get much better than that!!

Was that an original Toyota rack? How many miles were on it? Did you hit something hard before the seals blew?
Yes this is the original rack as far as I can tell. Service history doesn’t show rack ever being replaced. 311,500 miles. We were crossing a pretty rough creek bed when it happened. Puked all the fluid out at once pretty much.

Oh man. Was it still driveable or how did you make it off the trail?

Thanks mate!

Short story: No it's not really functional, and yes it was a custom job. We bought a new 2017 VDJ bonnet from Toyota and had the scoop cut out / grafted and cold bonded onto our 105 bonnet. The shop had never done one on a 100 series before so they were keen to get one under their belt and we were happy to be a test subject since we were only paying for parts and materials, no labour.

Not so short story - we were originally planning an LSA swap into our 105 and had the bonnet done in anticipation, but the engine turned out to be junk so after bit of a battle we got our money back and ended up with 416ci stroked L92, and the plan was to sell the scooped bonnet. In summer we found the intake temps at idle were getting up to ~60ºC / 140ºF so we tried a vented bonnet but there was no real improvement, and it didn't look too good either. So the scooped bonnet went back on and instead we spent some time sealing up the shroud and placing some baffles around the radiator intake to prevent hot-engine-bay air from recirculating in through the radiator when the car is stopped - problem solved! Well, it's an LS and things still a bit warm in and around the engine bay but we never see those high intake temps anymore.
