This may help: http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/ccrp_9812_all_about_axle_gears/viewall.html

Please remember that the example I gave is not going into tire size, just explaining gear ratios. The "35" tires need 4.88's" goes into the circumference of the tire. Basically regearing the R&P ratio will correct how many times the driveshaft rotates compared to how far the vehicle moves. Lets say the stock 32" tire moves 100" in one rotation (or 4.11 turns of the driveshaft). But a 35" tire will go 110" per rotation. That means you are going further but reducing the multiplied torque. By regearing to 4.88, that will put the distance per rotation close to stock. That way you get your power back...

time for a separate tech thread on gearing?

ARB lights

Pikes Peak.

What brand daytime running lights do you have integrated into your ARB bumper? Did you have to fabricate anything to hold them in place? I just ordered the same bumper you have and really like the look of your lighting setup.

Thanks, Dave

Moab- Utah Part1

We visited Moab- Utah over the weekend. Mud fun. :)

nice truck, happy kids, great pics, amazing scenery

(and big wheels :) )

Nope, 33's for now.

5.5 hours :flipoff2: Because, back to reality, work.........

Cleaning:

I think the Tundra wheels make a difference in look. They look talker than they are. They have the flat face where the OEM wheels stick out, that gives the appearance of them being taller.

If they are 17s, you could go with 305s which is a 34. That is where I am headed, just gotta find a set to buy. I think that is going to be better for me vs. a 315. Not in a hurry though, no cash right now for swappage..

They are Tundra 18's. Once I re-gear, going 35's.

Thought I would match your BB pic.
