Nice Cruiser. Do you live in the T&P Bldg?

Yes, grew up in the Fort. We had an after prom party in the lobby. This was way before they renovated it into condos.

oh that's cool, they still have parties in that lobby. It's in great shape after all these years

How'd the 5G 4Run compare? Looks like it's the Trail version? Did he play with the crawl and hill descent? do you like the slide out bed?

The 5th gen Trail Edition did well, but medano pass isn't very difficult. We tested out the rear locker, but didn't play with the crawl gizmos. With a 2-3 inch lift and 33-35" tires, it would be a great trail truck and it would look pretty good too.
I think the slide out is gimmicky, too many nooks and cranies for stuff to fall into on the sides. I prefer the tailgate on LandCruisers.

We'll probably be doing more trail runs over the next few months, so I'll get to see how it does. Altho my friend has never 4wheeled in his life before last weekend, so I'll have to take it a little easy :)

I thought the same thing about the slideout! How the heck would you clean under there? I'm sure it releases but what a PITA!

Did you ride in it? How's the ride quality compare?

I was all pumped up about it when I sat in one at the 2010 auto show in Portland, but the more I got to thinking about it I went back to looking for an LC. I would have wanted the Trail, but you can't get it with leather which was a no-go for me. It's just too much like a Jeep or Xterra with a Trail Edition interior IMO.

Your pic presents an good perspective of scale between the size of the two rigs!

This past week I spent a day exploring the mountains around the Entiat Valley near Wenatchee WA. My new pursuit is finding old USFS Fire Lookout Stations that are still existing. Mostly because of the locations afford some breathtaking views of the surrounding areas.

Soon after arriving at the peak of Tyee Mountain here is the LC parked near the fire lookout. Elevation was 6600 ft.

Parked at the base of the Steliko Point fire lookout station which is just above Ardenvoir WA. Elevation is only 2800 ft.

The highest mountain peak you see in the background is Tyee Mtn and were the pictures above were taken on the same day.

I have to admit, that thing is pretty cool.

What chassis and body is that RC FJ, LJ? I have a couple of 3.3 Revos, one of which I recently converted to electric and a 4WD LiPo. Slash

Fall in Colorado

A fall day in the cruiser, touring with 8 - no better vehicle.

Where?: Georgia & Boreas Passes

Tamiya cc01 chassis, I decided to put the modern FJ on it since it was IFS and the FJ40 body is going on my scx10:D

Jopefully they make a 100 series body soon:steer:

Cool! I'm hoping someone will make a LC body for the Summit. Should scale pretty well off that chassis!

Dang, that looks awesome! Do the trees always turn that early up there?

I like the CC01, it's just not a true "crawler" setup, the CC01 is more of a modern day scale RC with IFS upfront. But I'll take the Axial SCX10 anyday :D

Here is mine, including my little flop at the end ;)

yes yes, a picture of a landcruiser

the CC01 is more of a modern day scale RC with IFS

which is why mine is an FJ cruiser:D If a 100 series body is released, its going on my cc01

Those are some awesome shots there Anthony. Are those fire lookout stations unique to Washington, or do they exist elsewhere also?
