The trip ended up being about 3800 miles all together over 17 days and we were averaging a hand calculated 14mpg across the trip. Gas on average was about $3.50/gal so yes about $1K in gas is correct. Cant put a price tag on a good old fashioned family road trip though! lol
Thank you for this, I am looking for the 86HF they seem to be really hard to find. Don't see them on ARB site.
Went up to Big Bear on Saturday. Wanted to hit a slightly more challenging trail like Devils Hole but cousin had other plans. Still a great time.

Wish we could have camped there but the wife and kid aren't into tenting it in 100 degree weather lol It was all Airbnb this trip but that was a nice change in itself
Just got some Wildpeak AT4W’s in 35x12.50xR18, 4.88 regear, Eaton front locker, CSF radiator, and some beans and rice because I’m broke now.

I’m not an expert…but I’m pretty sure beans and rice hits all the major food groups. So you’re golden.

I’ll be doing the same soon except 285/75/18. How are you liking the Wildpeaks? Debating between those and Toyo OC AT3. Any advice with installing 4.88 gears?
I like em. I haven’t wheeled em yet but they feel good on road. I had em at 42psi initially and it was jarring so I bled em down to 36psi, which wobbled a bit on the highway. I ultimately ended up at 38psi front and 40psi rear and it’s a good balance.
I don’t have advice with installing 4.88 gears because I hired a shop to do em for me
I’m running Bilstein 5160s and Slee SOF2RH coils and I’m not too happy with the ride quality. The digressive valving leaves a lot more to be desired so I’m looking at Dobinson’s IMS + their C59-175V variable rate spring. I’m also considering the C59-185 but I fear they might be too stiff. If someone can chime in on my dilemma I’d appreciate it!

Keep it up with the beans and rice, go straight to the MRAs
.No experience on those specific coils, but have loved the dual rate coils they offer. Mine are CVT-485VT I think.

I went from Bilstein 5160s to the Dobinson IMS - MAJOR upgrade. I had also moved from 285/70/17 to 315/70/17 and it was feeling downright unstable on the freeway to me. The Dobinsons are a night and day improvement.
