Ok I could not wait any longer so I went out in the 104 deg weather and poked around . First thing on my starter it is clockable. And 1 of the bolts had come out and the other was backed out . I pulled the plugs. And fixed the starter . Turned over and fuel pumped out . Put the plugs back in and it fired up 😳🤷‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Drove it off the trailer and in the garage . Will dump the oil and get a new starter as 1 of the threads was buggered up . Still calling sniper cus it certainly had a issue So weird . But she runs again 🤷‍♂️ On a different note I called B&D turnkey today and I am going forward with phase 2. I just need to make this last another few weeks . I might even just put my carb back on since I know it ran fine with that .
 
Thats good news on it starting.. Ive been worried.. Now, go get a good trailer for goodness sake... I got one I'll sell ya.. fully enclosed car hauler. Although its probably not tall enough or wide enough..I'll be putting mine up on a Sundowner. Medic.. .. you put ( guessing, probably low) 40k in your rig, good trailer to put it on hard to beat.

What an adventure, thank you forposting so those of us stuck home can live thru your stories, great. Soory to hear the sniper reaked havoc. Maybe the alt isnt charging and the low voltage took out the sniper, just a thought... the same low volt maybe killed fuel delivery as well ?
Ok talked to Sniper this morning and P is correct if you have a low voltage or interruption it will
Cause the sniper injectors to lock out ( ie the fuel dump / screen go red ) . Now was this from the alt 🤷‍♂️ Or starter 🤔🤷‍♂️ We are working on that . But my low batt the next morning is a indicator for sure . I have another alt. I can put on to be sure . Once I am sure of this we can dial in the fuel table .
 
So how did it work on the trail? .
She did great. A few things I need to address . I have a old mount under the radiator that just barely kisses the tie rod at full bump
. My rears tires rub the body at full stuff I can’t feel it but can see where so I will add bump stops . I am going to get a new PS hose made as this one is very close to my header. It was ok but it will be better . It burns way to much fuel to drive in CA 🤦🏻‍♂️ Working with Holley on that . And I did sheer a Fj80 tie rod end on my pitman arm 🤔. So that is getting a upgrade . Other than that. I did most of the rubicon in 2wd low . I had to pull a 80 series from big sluice OUT and there were a few places I was heavy on the throttle with all 4 wheels spinning and she just smiled 😃. Drove it from Fordyce to the Rubicon and back ( that was fun actually) and it drove straight and smooth 1 hand on the steering wheel. The funny part is I never intended to drive this on the street. But it was really fun cruising through town . We got up to 75mph with no problems . As far as my steering 🤔. Even with the ARB on I could still turn with 1 finger . Weird . So I am still on the fence as to just add. My hydro assist or go full hydro ( I have both ) And I feel my coil overs need more dampening But that’s just splitting hairs . I will work with Radflo on that .

Aww 1 huge thing 😞. Elsie got completely run over at winch hill 4 😩🥲. She was laying off to the side and I was spotting a rig up winch hill 4 and the last section you need to stay in it . Anyways I guess she came over to be by me at some point and was laying in the trail . As the rig came up I just so slightly turned my head and caught a glimps of her and yelled but he was already driving over her 😩. It’s all on video ( will get back to that in a second). I thank God she is ok. She never even yelped . She had a swamper track right over her also . I put her in my 40 and drove up from 4and out 5 in I am sure record time . . It was no one’s fault and she just blends in with the dirt. And even more so after she has been rolling around in it . But people please let’s not worry so much about getting the perfect picture for Instagram and let’s worry a little more about staying safe . She is 100 percent my responsibility but if I am spotting someone in a very difficult and critical spot I can’t pay attention to everything else. There were plenty of people with us that she was with . Again my fault but come on . She is fine. But man did that scare me .

That is about how she took it 😳. She just looked at me like WTF I was taking a nap and I got woke up by a 43 swapper driving over me . Let’s go swimming
 
I'd go hydro assist. Full hydro sucks on the road. No feedback to the wheel at all, its pretty easy to get oscillating at speed which is not a fun ride.

I would 100% go LS. I personally will never touch a sbc again.
 
Yep Ls based is where we are going . I just need this to last a few more weeks . So I talked to sniper again today and we got it narrowed down to my starter coming loose . Also my cl was really high like 50 and that is max. Should be like ~5. I noticed I had 1 primary injector not firing . He told me that is pretty common and they have since fixed it 😳 umm it’s brand new . Anyways it’s a 10 week turnaround for them to fix it 🤦🏻‍♂️ But he told me he can’t tell me but there is a you tube on how to fix it 🤔. So I pulled it apart and the prongs in the plug were not even in the terminal 😖. I put it back together and still not firing 🤷‍♂️ But I did get the CL to run at ~6 and everything was in spec. It runs off 3 injectors fine but not getting 100 percent . The bigger problem is I put the progressive linkage on and can’t find the stock link to switch back Ugg. ( I have house cleaners that always move my stuff 🤦🏻‍♂️) I will call again tomorrow and see what sniper says. . I guess worst case I can throw the carb back on and swap out the dist 🤬. . Kinda pisses me off that it’s a common issue and then a 10 week turnaround . I will put some pressure on now . The plan now is to collect all the parts to do a engine and trans swap . Put the engine exactly where I want it and go from there . My friend has a ls in his 40! And it has a manual trans with a 205 trans. Not sure what trans it is. 🤷‍♂️ I will say the ls is a lot wider engine
 
I need to figure out the trans asap so I can let Advance adapter know for my Atlas
 
Ok enough crying it time to get back to work 😃. Somewhere in the very back of my mind I would like to maybe try KOH with this Just a dream but not impossible 🤷‍♂️. With that said and what others have said Hydro assist it is 👍. Question does it matter if I go to the tie rod 🤔. Or do I have to go to the drag link 🤔. Also I received the correct switch panel. It’s for the ash tray but I am going to use it on the tuffy box. I can’t reach the ash tray when I am strapped in .

Not a 4l60. I've seen too many 3/4 clutch packs go bad. A 6l80 would be sweet in that if you have the length.

The easiest way I guess would be to keep my TH400 🤔.
 
Ok Sniper update 🙃. I took it back apart last nite and got the same result Nothing . So this morning I thought why not just swap the secondary injector that I know is working to the primary and put the primary that is not working to the secondary that was. Well this confirmed that the injector is not firing . Now both primary injectors are 👍😃. But only 1 secondary 👍. So I called sniper again . And asked if they could send me a new injector for my new Sniper that don’t work . No 🤬. He told me to call
Some other EFI place 😳 . So I called and they make parts for Holley but don’t sell but he told me about some issues and that there is a Gen 3 coming out because of these . I called Holley back and again asked to buy a injector and asked if I send it back in will
They retro with new stuff since this is a know issue. No 🤬. I can see a lawsuit forming here . Selling parts with known issues and making new parts to fix the issue is kinda a red flag . Anyways. I can Buy the injector from Summit 🤦🏻‍♂️ For 54 bucks. I think it’s more the point that I have to fix this myself and buy the part Than anything . But we are close . I did try putting 12 volts to the dead injector and I can hear it click. I will try flushing it maybe it got clogged somehow 🤷‍♂️ If so I will have a spare . Other than that it’s running better than ever and using very little fuel like it is supposed to. They said it won’t hurt to drive it. It just won’t have max power at WOT. That is fine I barely gave it much gas on the trail anyways . I will pull it 1 more time and check the ohms and cycle it while I flush it. I can take it out in about a minute now so at least I have learned how to work on it . .

I ordered a RedHead steering box That is ported for hydro assist so that is coming .

Going to swap in my old Alt just for fun 🤔. Thinking maybe since that was the first time I actually drove it far with the lights and everything on. 🤔 just maybe it was not charging the battery like it should 🤷‍♂️ Every time I would start it it would squeal . . New parts does not always mean they will last or work forever. But I have at most 400 miles on it now .

I don’t know if I will ever get it clean again after 2 weeks of dust water mud and rocks. But I will do my best . She is filthy .
 
It is a single Wire . I know about the 3 wire Alt . On the single wire there is no jumper or plastic clips 👍.
