So I started messing around with the next art project today . I do not want to butcher the dash and need a spot for gauges and switches . I will make it so I can add speakers on the sides . Going to make 3 for now . Will keep 1 blank for future Sniper Efi screen .

So I have working on some other things to get ready . So I had a small leak from my trans pan . And come to find out with the TH400 trans you will have a clearance issues with the driveline . So I pulled the pan and could see we’re the PO had clearance the pan. I found the leak and fixed that . My thoughts of going to a Atlas just went to the front of the line . I also did a little bit of wiring. I now have a ignition switch . I hooked up the fuel tank so she now runs on her own .. It would idle ok but under load would break up . So I pulled the carb apart and it had a ton of trash in it so I cleaned everything and it is running great now . Fires rt up . I need to hook up the power steering and it should be pretty much ready to take on a long distance overland trip . I have a bunch of parts coming and can now start on the fun stuff .
So on todays project list . Figure out a good place to mount the battery . The PO had a mount that mounted to the fender. And normally I could have added to this and it would be in a decent spot . The problem is my coolant tank will occupy that real estate . And my shocks will also So I need to find a new spot . I am thinking just in front of the firewall. Or on the firewall I also need room for my ARB compressor
I think I can make this work . I do not want it over my Header. Because that will be a issue. But it should fit turned . I will have to make something that will mount to the frame that I can mount the box to but this should work
Some more stuff . Got a radiator over flow bottle . Got my power steering mount . And a new fan to get rid of that gawd awful yellow thing . And plug wire separators. . Used a piece of string to get the belt length I need. Will get that tomorrow.
