I normally see one or two bars in this location. Today was one in the truck.

Even the tests where the amp down spaced to avoid oscillation hd much better upload. And usually at least one bar better.

I did some research and can now also pull the db off the phone, I’ll be doing that before I bake the final interior antenna location.

What would cause the factory remote start to not work? I very rarely use it, last time was maybe three years ago? Fob unlocks, locks, beeps horn etc. But the quick quick long does nothing.

<Edit add in the reasons it won't work>

Remote start system not working on Lexus LX570

If the engine on your LX570 does not start when you perform the remote starting procedure, it can be due to a number of reasons:

  • Your vehicle is low on fuel.
  • The hood on your LX570 is not fully closed.
  • One or more of the vehicle doors are open, make sure they are securely closed.
  • The transmission is not in park mode (P).
  • The 12v battery voltage has gone too low.
  • The service engine light is turned on in the instrument cluster.
  • Your Lexus LX570 may not have the remote start feature. Get your vehicle checked by an authorized dealer to confirm if it is equipped with a remote start system.

Still haven’t figured what is wrong with remote start, I don’t meet any of the provisions. Will dig into techstream, maybe have a stored code or something.

Dumped a few psi to try 36 on the new tires. The apex valves make this a simple and short action. They’re still awesome.

Am seeing some ride benefits of the slightly smaller diameter (0.5”) and lighter rim/tire package (I figure 5 lbs a corner, need to weigh them). New tires definitely a softer compound, which is good for traction off the line 😀

How do we know if we are remote start equipped or not?

Mine is listed on the window sticker. Not sure how else you’d know. Point the remote at the truck and press lock key short short hold 5 seconds

Back to the new tires. One had been losing a lb every couple days, figured it was a loose valve core. Walked by this morning and it was gurgling. That’s an odd sound for a tire. There was a bit of water from rain in the protector circle thing of the rim, and the air was gurgling out around the valve stem.
It was finger lose .
Got my torque wrench and set that one. Then went around and set the other four. All we’re hand right only.
shop still incompetent.

I had 2 of 5 loose on my last tire change.

Did they use loctight on them?

Did they use loctight on them?
I put in the apex deflation valves, and I loctited them.
Tire shop put in the tpms. I doubt they are loctited, and they weren't torqued either. Just hand tight.

Got the antenna installed today. Temp on the rest the antenna cable didn’t reach the intended install location.

I got some clips and put branded 3m vhb black tape on them.

Decided not to go under the pinch weld, entering over it at bottom of hatch. Probably will go down to the back right grommet since I have to extend the cable anyway.

Great sled hill in Darrington.
At the archery range.
There is an old ski hill around here somewhere we didn’t find that yet.
I’ll Guess 75ft vertical and flat open runout.
The kid on the last photo only 1/2 way up

Watched cell reception on trip out here. Never dropped signal the entire way. Only a couple sections of one bar. Many sections four bar. Before there would be several no signal and I never saw four bar.

Looks like a fun day in the snow! Did you attempt a hill climb in the LX and test those out new meats in the deep stuff?
Nope, just played for a couple min in some casual 18” snow drifts on the side of the road. I wasn’t aired down. No issues with that but not a real test.
3 hours of freeway speeds. 37 cold. 41 driving psi. Quieter than the previous 1/2 warn AT. Nice freeway ride characteristics. Not noticing the tire at all, which is saying a lot for an RT.
They won’t be brand new forever though. Will be curious to see how they wear.

Very cool, glad to hear they are working out well. I’ve taken them in about 12” of snow when wheeling in the mountains. Aired down to 15psi on the trails and they did phenomenal.
So far after 15,000 miles they are a tad bit louder but not much, and are wearing perfectly with 5-7k rotations.

The 35x10.5 is such a great size. One of these days I’ll try stuffing it into my LC.

Finished up the cell booster.
Notes for the future:
A 1 meter SMA extension for the exterior antenna would be long enough. I got a two meter.
Plenty of space under the US passenger (right front seat). Just unbolt them four bolts and tip it back to access.
The status light shows thru the carpet.
In the dash, the pink is 12v and white blk stripe gnd at the cigarette lighter plug.
I tried several locations and ended up with the interior antenna inside the ashtray. That got a better signal than behind the start button for both phones on vent mounts.
