After much deep thought realized that a 'tee' was the same as a 'manifold'. Had to buy one more flexzilla quick disconnect, repurposed some fittings from the fitting bag and found a tee in there too.
It's a $14 mani-foldy.
Now I’m definitely big-time.

At more than 225k it seemEd like a good idea to completely service the transmission. So I laid in 14 quarts of ws synthetic compatible fluid, crush washers, a filter and o ring and gasket, some 5/8” id and 1/2” id vinyl tube, a quart size pumper.
watched the very helpful video from @NLScooby ,

and got started.

ran a few errands to get transmission up to 200 deg.
removed my skids
popped the drain.
got about four quarts dark as satan’s heart. :poop: should have done this baselining sooner.

be very careful With the pan bolts. They are 65 in lbs (5.5 ft lbs). If they resist you’ll twist them off easy. Suggest spraying all over course of several days above the pan at end of bolts to make sure they aren’t rusted in.
i had 10 come right out, and two resist. these are the outside rear corners. The reason is that the air con drain drips on them.
I twisted one off before I knew better. :bang:The second was able to work free with much difficulty. For reference I wa s using a 1/4” short handle socket and was up by the head and still twisted it off.
i tried to drill it out, but didn’t make any progress and gave up. 11 out of 12 is really good, right? Sucks it was a corner bolt.
got six qts out of pan and drain and filter.
put that back together And put six qts back in.
ran three qts out the radiator after locking the thermostat. still dark as the abyss. Will pick it up tomorrow fillign those three and running three more out. Total capacity dry is 9 qts so I think nearly flushed .

no pics was in tranny fluid gloves the whole time. Video is better than any pics I’d have anyhow

Bummer about the pan bolt. I was fortune to get all to easily turn / remove, The benefit of a rust free California car. I did have a headache trying to remove the pan gasket. At each corner the gasket was fused to the pan. Had to carefully scrape off the reminents without scaring the pan.
I noticed After installing the new gasket and torqueing the pan bolts to 65inch lbs I had some minor seeping between the gasket and the transmission. Retorqued and went a few inch lbs more and all is good now. Let us know how it all goes once completed. I was pleasantly surprised by the improved shifts after dumping out all the old WS fluid.

Oh forgot to add that I ran a transmission flush immediately ahead of the drain. Idled for 15min after I got it up to temp with the errands running thru all the gears 30 secs per gear over and over.
used the lubegard product. It’s thin like tranny fluid and clearish.
after seeing the color of the fluid glad I did.

Finished up today. I didn’t have the thermostat all the way blocked (pin thru two holes) So mixed the fluid a bit before figuring that out. Guess it worked yesterday because if was warm and already open.
Got that corrected and ran six more qts thru.
Buttoned up checked level at 109to 118deg. All good.

So how many quarts did you end up going through during the exchange ? I ended up needing 15.5 lol, probably a mud record. So many bone headed mistakes from losing too much fluid from the cooler line to misplacing the crush washer on the over flow plug. Live and learn….story of my life.

I believe the count is 14.5. Didn’t spill much, but put it all in since I screwed up and mixed the last couple quarts in the lines in due to not getting the thermostat all the way overridden. Bought 14 and had 1/2 left for the power steering flush.

the transmission is 1000% improved. Wow.
Smooth silent and amazing. Well worth the time investment. My old fluid was really old I think.
What I thought was gear noise from my 4.88s was actually transmission whine. Unbelievable.
I didn’t have any glitter but there was a lot of smudge on the magnets.

Pardon my ignorance. Is the cage just to keep the lid closed? I guess it allows you to stack stuff on top of it the cooler as well and then pull it out to get into it.

Keeps stuff from falling into the fridge area when you pull in out using the slide.

We’re planning on an overnight but ended up coming back (hot and biting ants and so many wasps)
Tried the wildlife refuge out of ellensburg.
Roads mostly fist sized rocks. Pretty cool area and we will be back a little later in the season. About 30 miles in low, another 15 in high. Lots of trails obviously unused (four ft tall weeds, lots of trail blocking new growth on trees, brush. )
Was speeding out on the main artery and got some good ‘air’ with two shallow washes back to back. Truck seems fine, broke my bumper table off, parking sensors popped out but went back in. Stuff inside pretty well battened down luckily. Drove another 2 hour home on freeway so figure its ok.
Great thing is it fixed a suspension softness I wasn’t liking. I guess all it needed was to be kicked hard twice in succession.

saw more than 100 elk. Most in a big herd that we just pulled over and watched run by like a safari.

Yeah I was game but I have one that cant abide bugs, and after she got stung it seemed like time to roll on. Working on getting the city out of them but can’t do it all at once.

Found several loose bolts on accessories and whatnot. Got the good vibrations yesterday.

This 8mm to fridge cord you made up... was it originally a cig lighter adapter.
I need to source something before lcdc.
thx
It had four parts. The special female end that fits into a 12v out on my battery /solar generator. Then some 14ga speaker cable. Then that coiled cable which stretches to 2 ft which I cut off a cigarette lighter plug, then the special end from my fridge 12vdc cigarette lighter cable. Soldered and shrink wrapped and then some cable wrap.

Nicely done.

Back your awning into an overhanging tree and destroy the bag? Rhino rack has you covered for $50 + shipping. This is one of the benefits of buying from a big, global, outfitter. On the downside, still waiting for spare sacrificial hinges. So win some lose some.

it comes with a set of the plastic pins for the front, no need to buy additional.
