I wanna go shoot! We need to do a onsc club shoot!

Can't wait to put the new boom stick through its paces. Just wish I knew more places where I could go to shoot a shotgun.

Details forth coming on that... sorry about the delay got crazy busy lately

Triple Target in Sophia would be a good option for the club.
NO membership required and it has been open and sparsley used the couple times ive been.
Relatively new and growing, and not too crowded unless its a beautiful weekend.
They've got rifle, pistol, shotgun, and archery lanes and as a group we could about take over the place.

It would be a good one to tag along to a cleanup as its north of URE.

otherwise several other options, just got to wait for open invite days. Range 32, Durham pistol and rifle club, Piedmont handgunners assoc etc

Sounds good to me!

Some of you guys already know about csf. A couple months ago the site was down and apparently a few miss were upset that nothing was being done. So now you have two options. There is a new site called Carolina shooters club. Pretty nice format so far and they also have a Droid app. Enjoy peeps.

Took a trip to the range yesterday (Handgunners, in Burlington). Had a good time and got to shoot the new shotgun. Here are the results:

Pic #1 - Glock 17 from 5 - 7 yds.

Looks like I tend to shoot a little low. I've been taught the "pumkin on the post" method of aiming, also known as the "6 o'clock hold", where you put the target on top of the front sight. Maybe the Glock is set up for combat sights. Either that or the heavy stock trigger pull is pulling my shots down.

Pic #2 - Glock 17 from 10 and 15 yds. The head shots are using my buddy's new Beretta PX4 Storm.

The low pattern is more evident. Not real sure what would also make me tend to shoot a little left. The shots in the neck area are the first couple shots with my friend's Beretta. It definitely shoots a bit low, and it's not the trigger b/c it's a really easy trigger since it's a single-action after the first shot.

Pic #3 - Mossberg 500 with #8 and #7 1/2 birdshot from 7 yds.

Not much to say. The center of the target was gone after about 4 shots. :D

Pic #4 - Mossberg 500 with various single shots of 00buck loads - Winchester, Hornady, Remington and a couple of #8 birdshot since it was my last target and I wanted to shoot a couple more.

This is why shotguns are THE weapon for home defense. Despite my shoulder being a little sore today, needless to say.....I'm happy with my purchase. :grinpimp:

well as some of you know I am right in the middle or remodeling our kitchen and dining room with the help of Stacy's dad. To make it happen as quickly as possible I've gone to 2nd shift at work for 4-6 weeks to get this done. The downside is that She and the kids are staying at her moms and I stay at our house since I get in so late and don't want to risk waking the kiddos. Sucks because I don't get to see them but on weekends pretty much. So to try to get to the point here Stacy did a little something for me and flat out knocked it out of the park. I've been wanting to pick up another hunting rifle for some time and a co-workers buddy had exactly what I have been wanting for as long as it has been on the market. She surprised me with a Browning A-bolt 270 win with BOSS. I could not have been happier since I thought the gun had been sold out from underneath me. Ordered some glass for it last night and once I get it mounted I'll post up some pics. :)

Thats awsome. That is swinging for the wife of the year award pretty hard.

Carry on luggage?

Good stuff there Eric! Stacy scores major cool points!!!

not sure if anyone is looking for a new rifle scope but I just found on Wilson Combats site they have some smoking deals on scopes. If you go to shopwilsoncombat.com and click the link for Bill's secret stash you'll see what I mean. They are mostly units they had on their equipment to demo but they do have some new in box stuff. there was a Leupold VXII 3-9x50mm for $260. which is about $80 cheaper than optics planet. Happy hunting.

Good work Stacy. Congratulations Eric, that is one excellent bangstick. I bought an A-bolt from Brock in C'ston last year and it is a beautiful piece of work.
It's a stainless stalker in 300 WinMag. Now if I could just find some 300 WM light I might be able to learn to shoot it
It's like a 30-06 on steroids. Say the difference between a 12ga and a 16 or 20.

Picking up this sweet piece tomorrow...my first 1911 :hillbilly:

yeah Bill those 300 WM's are super nice but damn they kick like a three legged ninja.

Very nice Sig Jon. I don't have the pleasure of a 1911 yet but it is on the short list for sure. Where you picking her up at?

Thanks Eric. I bought on gunbroker and picked up at a local ffl in Wilmington. Hope to strip, clean, oil and take to the range later today.

Had some free time today, took the girls to the range for some practice. Just a couple minute video of the 3 of us throwing a little lead downrange. Targets were put @ 15yrds, Brianna's grouping is amazing my proudest papa opinion...

That's some nice grouping. What were you guys shooting?

I took Steph to the range last Monday for the first time and now she has claimed the m&p 9 as hers!
