Tigers dropped the first and third games and won the middle 1-2 against miami not as good a weekend as had been hoped for. I think the rain delay in the middle of todays game hurt them the starter was cruising and the tigers were up 1 after the rain it went the other way and the canes pulled it out.

Kudos to Jake! First base? I guess that is easier on the back
than pitching. LOL... Can't get him off the field for recovery? ;)
I suspect he's needed too badly. Hope the back heals quicky.
# 3 vandy took 2 of 3 from #1 USC this weekend. Friday's 12 inning game
an all time pitching classic. Neither starter got a win or loss in spite
of 2 brillant performances. Saturday Vandy spanked some serious butt.
12-1. OUCH! That Vandy pitcher from Saturday is something special.
He's a freshman and pitched a high school game last year where he struck
everybody. That's right.....27 strikeouts in one game. Holy Moly.
Today, Sunday, the Cocks returned the favor to salvage 1 game. 8-2.
The Cocks freshman pitcher had a shutout going into the 8th leading
8-0.
Gators next weekend in Florida. Furman mid-week.

ESPN Easter baseball

USC vs UF is a national college baseball telecast
on Easter. 1:00 pm eastern time. It could be for the
S.E.C. lead. Cocks are a game back of UF as of today.
Last night's game with UF was a blowout. 12-2 in favor of the
Gamecocks. Same two teams go at it Saturday at 4:00 pm.
Osage/Jake ought to get a kick out of CU vs VT getting cancelled after
5 innings due to SNOW! Tenn at Kentucky was also snowed out.
Brrrrrrr.....28 degrees here in Pumpkintown this morning.
Ahhhh...the sunny south. LOL
No snow forecast for Gainesville. ;)
Go Jake....Go Osage City!

Get out the brooms the Tigers completed the sweep today over VT. Not exactly a baseball powerhouse but were finally putting together strings of wins and playing solid baseball. Tigers might have turned the corner just in time for a wed showdown with the shamecocks.

Cocks took 2 of 3 from Gators this weekend. Great games.
Tigers vs Shamecocks up next in Tigertown. Weds game.
I wonder if the Tigers will "waste" a weekend starter for this game?
USC most likely will use Hempy who is trying to comeback from
Tommy John surgery. I'd almost bet CU trots out their Ace. :grinpimp:

hey i watched the uf game on espn yesterday...good game!...pretty exciting at times...osage city scheduled to play council grove tomorrow...the weather is real iffy...chance of rain and thunderstorms and it is still rotten cold..

I'm glad ya'll got to see the Cocks and Gators go at it!
Pretty exciting???? LOL.....I thought so too. Coming from behind
in the 9th and winning in the 12th wasn't boring for Yardbird fans at all. ;)
Here's to better weather nationwide for all the boys of spring.
Go Osage City....

thought you guys might enjoy this....a pic from the last game..

Not Hempy

Well....shoot. Tanner says Hempy will be saved for
the weekend vs Auburn.
Guess the Cocks will trot out a sub scrub for CU's batting practice
Weds at Tigertown. What with CU's hottest pitcher going for the Tigers
and with Who Knows on the mound for USC it doesn't look promising.
S.E.C. weekend games are just too important to use a starter mid-week.
'Sides.....we are already guaranteed a split with Clemson this year. :grinpimp:
Good to hear Hempy is back in the starting spot again however. He was last year's ace before his injury. He had an excellent outing in his last mid-week game.
Look for the Tigers bats to light it up Weds.

osage city swept council grove last night...11-2 and 3-1...jake had 2 great games...played 1st base both games....7 at bats...1 hit for an rbi and 4 walks..18 fielding opps and no errors!...this is the first time in our baseball programs history that we have swept this team...they are the powerhouse in our league...all is good in osage city baseball land today...next game is tuesday at home against northern heights

Wow......pretty good series for ol Jake!
Auburn took friday's match with USC. Blowout. First
loss by Honeycutt EVER at USC. Oh well, ya can't win 'em all.
Today the Cocks returned the favor and blewout Auburn. :)
Hempy was awesome in his first full game back from Tommy John
surgery today. 6 2/3 strong innings. Only allowed 2 hits.
5K+ attended the baseball game.
Fun day in Columbia. Spring football had 40K+ fans and Hootie and the
Blowfish gave a concert at the game, before and at halftime.
The rain held off for both events.
Sunday's rubber match with Auburn should be a doozy.
Go Osage City. Tell Jake we are following his progress and keep it up!

The Tigers wrapped up a weekend series with the deficient diamond deacs with a series win 2-1. I didnt get to our spring game like David but Harper played like a champ and solidified his position as starter over Willy Korn. Should motivate the young fella to keep working hard. Next up a wed night showdown with the Gamecocks.
