OK finally got back to work. Out of nowhere she stopped idling took a quick look and found the linkage to the plunger had come loose so reattach that first thing. Idols like a champ now

For the first time since I owned it finally tore into the brakes and steering. Surprisingly it stops nice and true but still wanted to check them out. Driver side look great even wear on the shoes no oil just cleaned up no adjustment necessary. Passenger size has a couple failed boots, and the shoes are worn unevenly. Cleaned it up good and adjusted the rear cylinder to get more uniform stopping.

Will probably need to rebuild those cylinders shortly

Why in the heck did I wait so long to get a nice little hydraulic stool on rollers best 20 bucks I’ve ever spent at Harbor freight

Tie rod ends all checked out good and the steering gearbox has a little bit of play, the real culprit is that idler assembly I don’t think it can be tightened sufficiently may need a rebuild or replace

R.I.P. After 40+ years I have to retire the craftsman timing light. We’ve been through about 25 vehicles over the years boats and cars, going to miss the old girl

I might try, I definitely will not throw it out just need to find a time.

So yesterday I tried setting the timing put some silver paint on the BB got it spot on but every time I tightened the retainer it would creep off badly. I knew the Distributor Was not moving for the amount of change in timing. So today I pulled out the distributor to inspect it and noticed this on feature and it Advance /retard knob. Do you guys recognize that?

Cool - does it do anything burning consistent US fuel...... or is it only if your running on kerosene and the like.

Well now that the new workshop is functioning I can get to work on the bus.

Awesome shop! But get that drainage running away from your slab or it will cause some serious issue in the long run. I am dealing with them now!:mad:

Thanks!!! will do just waiting for some cooler temps.

Looks like the common Chinese repop carb.

Awesome looking shop.

Thanks! it is nice to get out of the boxes! Hate working that way

Well I’m going in! I think a little RTV, and duct tape and they’ll be good as new ......🙄. It appears that desert water has been hard on the cooling system

No turning back now. Most things came out ok but several bush repairs to deal with. The fenders and approns are toast. Much of the body work was spot welded and bondoed up. I think those shock mounts will need some love
