Yeah, I've picked up a new dual fuel three burner for about $35 and it came with a gallon of fuel. Only been used a few times... Add that to my 2 burner and my blue Sears stove that got to get up and running...

And the winner is:

Congrats!

Awesome. Rusty_TLC deserves the win.

I would have entered, except I have one already. Way to go!

Picked up 220E and a 220F at auction, going to keep the F but thinking about parting with the E as I just don't have time to mess with it.

Needs a plunger rebuild, the dial is stuck open, and it needs a new gasket seal for the cap but other than that it's pretty solid all the way around.

What struck me the most was the original globe, dated 8/62 I was amazed that it survived intact.

Picked up this 413E off eBay of all places. I really like the big-bodied stoves, and having recently parted with my only working two burner, decided I needed something to fill the gap between a single and three burner. This will probably be my at-home dedicated griddle rig.

I already have one of this model, but it needs a full resto before I'd be able to eat something cooked on it. It's pretty rough and dirty.

The seller did a good job wiping off whatever grime looked to have been covering it, but I still need to give it a detail clean. I'm ok with that - it seems to be the good oily dirt that keeps the rust at bay and the paint in good shape. Kinda like the oily funk that covers the bottom of your truck and when you wipe it off you can see the showroom in the reflection.

It was an auction, but I got an itchy trigger finger and paid the full $19.99 (sorry Mace!) The shipping seemed to have been miscalculated on the low side, so I was able to justify the BIN option internally.

Lol nice stove!

Great looking stove Cam. Let's see some griddle action.

So is there any benefit to the older Coleman camp ovens? There is currently one of the brown/tan ones on craigslist and I'll pick it up if it's "better" than the newer ones. However, if they are pretty much the same, I'll just buy a new one.

What would you rather have, something made in 'Merica or something made in China? Whenever I buy any tool or whatever I try to find an older used item. Why? my 30 yo garden tools still work, the stuff my son bought when he got his house is already failing, I'm going to start buying stuff at Yard sales to replace all of it.

Game.... set.... match..

Hi guys, this thread has got me inspired and excited for quite awhile now. I was wondering around a local market the other day and found this treasure for $10 Aus, which is roughly $12USD!

Coleman 421, made in Canada

Appears to be a 5/67 model?

Only thing missing is the fuel cap, but with my thumb over the filler hole it still built up pressure in the tank so hopefully it works.

I'm in the process of stripping the rust (which only looks superficial) and giving her a full holiday. Finding heat proof paint for match the colour is proving tricky though :( as we only get a small portion of what you guys get in the US!.

Found a few spares on ebay, namely the filler cap & gaskets, and once I get the generator tube apart and cleaned up I'll see if that needs replacing too, which I hope it doesnt.

I saw something awesome and weird today. There was a vintage trailer show at the fairgrounds here in Grass Valley, so my wife and I went to get some inspiration for our Airstream. LOTS of vintage camping gear as you'd expect. However, something caught my eye I had never seen before. It was a suitcase Coleman stove.. however, it was aluminum and ... er.. for lack of a better work.. bumpy? It was VERY cool. Guy found it new in the box in his grandpa's attic.

Made only about 3 years in the early 1960s. 442 was the 2 burner, 443 was the 3 burner. The Aluminum is soft and dents easily which is why I think Coleman stopped making them. They were basically the same as the 413 and 426 of the same period and shared the same tank and generator. While they are cool, and might stand up to trailer type camping, they really are not robust enough to take offroading. They tend to sell for good money on ebay, and other than being rare, I'm not sure why. I have a 443 I'd trade for some Sears blue lanterns and stoves if you're interested.

@rusty_tlc , jealous you got that oven! With some practice, I'm sure you'll be making from-scratch sticky buns in no time.

Here is a question about my Coleman 285-700 lantern for the enlightened (get it? nudge, nudge, wink, wink). The tube hanging from the burner assembly is loose. Loose enough that I have to replace the mantle after the moving the lantern a bit. The tube isn't screwed into place. I can't figure a way to tighten it. Should I just replace the whole burner assembly?
