Thanks again for the commentary. Did you buy the white that was in Houston?

I guess one learning is the immediate attention of any sing post in this case the misfire code.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks.

I actually bought this cruiser knowing it had a bad HG. I don't know the maintenance records before I had it, but he was chasing a misfire code for a long time. My guess is the maintenance has been ongoing during his ownership from what I can see and from working on cruisers for a career. When I got it I did a standard combustion leak test, and there was exhaust gases in the radiator.

I didn't take pics of the HG yesterday, but it has the same failure point as TCCN talked about. The coolant port running between each cylinder appears to be where it was exchanging. It will be interesting to see how many HG failures I will see, but to be honest this is the first 200 we've seen with a blown HG. Most of the time we are just doing PM on the 3UR, or installing super chargers ;-)

I would concur with TCCN in my opinion

i have been to your shop a few times and have recommended your shop on this forum as recently as few weeks ago for a guy in BC who is in trouble with his 200

Your word is good as gold - HG is a must for me on my 200 after seeing these posts recently. I had stopped buying Subarus due to HG problems, but sadly same problems follow me to this platform

appreciate it

Shocking.....you mean TCCN guy actually knows what he is talking about?!
You mean the problems of the 200 are finally being substantiated? It isn't a 25 year fill petrol and oil change platform that is the Gods Gift to vehicles, we have been led to believe?

You have been FINALLY vindicated on this forum. 200 have bad stereo and HG problems, and Ford F150 is the best!!!! YOU WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG!!

I called Carmax this morning, to ask to trade all our 200s, and they told me, they don't want them!!!!! Cuz they are POS and they have seen the videos too

We should all sue Toyota now!

Can we all score a group buy from Carmax?

Carvana is still buying them. I sold my 2017 LX570 to them for $8700. You all better hurry up before they see the videos.

Fun fact. Internal combustion engines have head gaskets. As a critical component interface, if you look hard enough, you'll find examples that have failed in every engine model.

How dare you come in here and interrupt their circle jerk!

Hate myself for reviving this but data is data:

2017 LC. Changed coolant this weekend at 107,432 mi. I bought a year ago at ~98k and only have a handful of service records so I do not know if it has been changed before. Here are the "test" results and old coolant condition
